Comments: The wiring harness itself is great quality and a time saver when installing the flourescent lights, especially if you're mounting the ballast inside your cabinet and have to go all the way up to your light fixture! The 6 foot harness that comes with the ballast is completely useless! You need almost the whole 6 feet just to do the local wiring at the fixture! I would've given this 5 stars if it was included with the $150 ballast, but that's how Ice Cap makes their money! The other minor complaint is that the wires for the ballast are solid (which is standard practice for flourescent ballasts), not stranded so when connecting to a hinged canopy, you have to make sure to allow plenty of slack and proper routing so the wires don't flex too much and break from regular opening and closing of the canopy. Overall, this is a great harness and unfortunately, absolutely necessary for a fast, easy and proper installation! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: If you are looking for something to simply connect up to your supplied wiring harness this won't do it. While the quality is exceptional (way better than the standard harness that comes with the ballast) it only has a connector on the end that connects to the ballast. The remote end has just striped wires, intended to connect directly to the lamp sockets. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Love it! It's hard to see it from the picture, but the heavy gauge wires for the power supply are wrapped separately from the 18 gauge wires running to the lights so you could in theory connect the power cord to one outlet, stick the ballast in the middle and run the wires to the lighting to bulbs another 15 feet away. Works great for those who would like to mount the ballast farther away from their tank. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
