Handles the salt by JB Experience Level: Expert Posted on 12/30/2008 from CARBONDALE, CO UNITED STATES Comments: I use this pendant with a 70 watt bulb for my refugium (kind-a a shame since it is a beautiful design). The par 36 lamps have the reflector inside, so there is never any salt spray degredation. After three years in a rough environment, these pendants are still going strong... I highly recommend Ice Cap for all except that there venting fans are a bit loud. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. Superb lighting solution by CHRIS BENSON Comments: I replaced one of my 175W SE 14k retrofits in my hood with the 150W pendant, using the 20k bulb. WOW. So much better! My only negative was that the cord was bare wire not plug and play. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
