The Sentry is a professional grade reef aquarium dosing pump that comes complete with all the equipment you need to automatically nourish, balance and protect the environment of your reef aquarium.

Two separate channels, Dark-Activated Dosing, pH Controller & Float-Switch compatibility. Large red LCD display, internal battery backup, compact size, quiet, dependable performance dosing as little as 0.3 ml./hour up to 100 ml./hour. Ideal for 2-part calcium/alkalinity addition. Also included is a higher-flow (3–800 ml./hour) one-channel tubing set. Can easily be used for either night-time only kalkwasser dosing, 2-component dosing or makeup-water additions.

Specifications

Plug-In Darkness Sensor for pump activation only when aquarium lights are off. No need for separate timer, or resetting timer after power outages.
Float Switch Compatibility. A Float switch is available as an accessory, and is plugged into the control jack in the back of the pump. The float switch is connected to transistor-level voltage, providing safety and dependability.
High Volume One Channel System. The Sentry is made to be used as a one-channel makeup water doser. Using the included long-life tubing set, the Sentry will pump up to 800mL per hour, or up to 5 gallons per day.
Two-Channel Capability Built In, with digitally adjustable dosing rates from .3 ml. to 100 ml./hour per channel when used with the included 2-channel tubing set.
A/C Control—Using the optional A/C controller, the Sentry can easily be controlled by other devices, such as pH controllers, electronic float switches or aquarium monitoring systems.
Accuracy and Tubing Life Utilizing a heavy-duty, Swiss-made motor and precision gear drive system. The Sentry pumps at a constant rotor speed of 12 rpm when set at 300. For slower rates, the timing cycle is changed but the rotor speed remains constant. Since it doesn`t rely on friction to drive the pumping mechanism, the output of the pump will remain stable over very long periods of time. Also, since the rotor moves at such a slow speed, tubing life is significantly better than that of higher-speed, gearless pumping systems.
Built-In Battery Backup—The built-in nickel cadmium battery pack will power the pump for over an hour, providing peace of mind during power outages or in moving the equipment. The settings not only stay in memory, but the pump will actually run on the battery for over an hour. When turned off, the memory of the last rate setting remains in the pump electronics for 24 hours, so when turned back on, it rapidly returns to the previous setting.
Precision Gear Drive—Internally the Swiss-made motor and gearbox power the rotor at 12 RPM, providing 24/7 operational capability as well as consistent dosing rates. To see the gear drive assembly, which is normally hidden within the pump.
Bright LED Display—Easily visible from a distance or underneath darkened cabinets. Quiet Operation. This pump runs exceptionally quietly, making less noise than most desktop computers.
Fixed-Dose Capability—Easily set a fixed volume to be dosed using the "dose" control button, providing a simple way to administer medications or other one-time additions of materials, or to acclimate livestock by adding a fixed volume of aquarium water.

Comments: Over the last 20 years I've owned many different dosing pumps in all different price ranges. I have gotten rid of them all and now own 4 of these wonderful pumps. These are the only pumps I will use on my 300 gallon reef, as well as the ATO on my 60 gallon cube. The Sentry is a no frills incredibly accurate workhorse. Its a refurbished medical dosing pump. I figure if its good enough for hospital usage, then I can trust it on my reef. NOTE: It is important that you read the instructions carefully, this pump can be very versitle if you know how to use it.

Needs improvement

Comments: I bought this pump to dose small amounts of additives into my reef. Like most advanced aquarists (I hope) the pump was programmed into my controller (Apex) to try and tweak the amounts added. I will say that the pump is easy to set up, consistent in its dosing, and relatively quiet. Two major drawbacks, particularly for this price, is that it cannot be controlled by the Apex (or any other controller) and the battery backup it has. The manufacturer essentially took a hospital IV pump and slapped a sticker on it that reads reefdosingpumps.com. A battery backup is good when grandpa is getting his antibiotics and the power goes out but in reefing if the power goes out you probably do not want additives to continue to be added, may it be because of a power failure or because a controller turned it off. I have a float switch that came with it that was made from the microphone jack used in computers. Despite its positives I have to give this pump a low rating for the little thought the manufacturer gave to reefing in particular- if you cannot control the pump then it should not have a battery backup. After a power failure you need confirmation that the system is OK and not to be "reliably" dosing additives.

Comments: I have a Sentry but want to give a warning I think all should be aware of. If you are dosing something, kalkwasser or whatever, and it is dosed with a controller, if you loose power the controller will no longer be able to direct the sentry doser which will operate by the battery back-up and continue to dose. Keep this in mind. Nice system but can overdose your tank if you loose power and am away.

Comments: This a is a very easy pump to setup. The pump is super quite and is perfect for the to part dosing that I am doing on my reef tank. The Pump was missing the light sensor and I called Innovative aquatics and Stan is shipping me the part right away. So very good customer service.
