Have had this skimmer for almost a month. Still producing tons of micro bubbles and the unit is very loud. Overall not what was advertised on YouTube. Clearly not designed for the Nuvo 16 as you can't adjust the height high enough for good consistent performance. It will overflow for now reason and spill over onto the ground. Love my IM tank hate their skimmer . Wish I could return...

Have had this skimmer for a week now and have yet to get it dialed in. I go to bed with it at a very low level of bubbles and wake up and its overflowing the catch tank. Am trying to cut the air line tube down little by little to see if it helps but again... still no joy. I have the neck as far down as possible, the air nozzle almost all the way open and still have yet to get it dialed in on the Innovative-Marine Nuvo 16 it was made for. Still lots of micro bubble too. Very frustrating. Considering sending it back if the shorter air tube or a new air tube does not resolve my issue.

I bought the midsize 65g version to replace the AquaticLife Mini 115 for my 12g DT (heavily stocked tank with mix of ½ soft/LPS and ½ SPS) and 10g refugium with frags. While the AL Mini 115 did a decent job, the intake port was small and the water draw was not strong enough to pull in 100% effluent from my DIY mini biopellet canister.
I went for the midsize PS because: 1) need an efficient and larger PS for 100% effluent intake from the biopellet canister; 2) having read that manufacturers are often overly optimistic about the gallon rating and if keeping SPS or heavily stocked tank, the gallon rating would sometime decrease by a 1/3 or more; 3) supplementary coral feeding would increase waste; and 4) want to run a ULNS.
The construction and material are very solid. The craftsmanship could improve a little. The tube inside the collection cup was slightly leaning to one side and not perpendicular, but it should not affect the function of the PS.
Installation was quick and easy, did not install the water outlet pipe or sponge. Water line is about 1.75” below the collection cup. Attached a PVC T-connector to the water pump intake port, hooked up the output of the biopellet canister, and by the 2nd day there was dark skimmate in the collection cup. There are still some micro bubbles, but minimal and not as much as I thought it would be. I’m not sure if soaking in vinegar/water bath for a couple of hours helps with the speedy break in. Now going on the third day, the volume of the skimmate that it had pulled out is equal to 1 week of skimmate from the AL Mini 115. The quality of the skimmate is much darker and not as wet.
Highly recommend this PS. I gave it 4 ½ stars instead of 5 because of the craftsmanship.

I have been using the "desktop" size for ~2 months now. It is installed in a 16G Innovative Marine tank. The fit is very good as it is designed for this tank; however, I have some tips.
It needs some airline cut down the side and placed over the edges of the glass in the aquarium to isolate vibration and noise.
I found that the air flow is very difficult to adjust as delivered. I added a very small (Tetra 10) air pump on the air intake to allow for easy & stable adjustment.
While “new” and not yet “broken-in” I would guess the sponge helped reduce micro bubbles, however, as soon as the sponge becomes loaded with slime the skimmer will not work correctly as the water level continues to rise in skimmer. The cure is simple enough, simply remove the sponge!
If you own an Innovative Marine Nano 16 this is a great skimmer, however, I found it needs some small tweaks in its application to really make it “shine”. Overall, I am very pleased.

The reason I bought this skimmer is because I figured it was the only one that would fit in the rear compartment of a Nuvo aquarium but after installed it I have to say that it is the noisiest skimmer I have ever heard in my life. I will not be waiting to find out if it works, I can't deal with the noise. Trying the Hydor next--keeping my fingers crossed on it.

Had this for about a week now on my nuvo 38. Took about 2 days to fully break in. Now skimming great. Love the fact that you can adjust it. Skimming a little wet for my taste right now. Looks like dark tea. Hopefully ill be able to get it down to that dark sludge looking skimmate. Overall i really recommend it for the nuvo.

I have had this skimmer up and running for almost 2 weeks, it took about 6 days to fully break-in. Since that time the micro bubbles have gone away and I am getting a good foam. For a nano sized skimmer it certainly works as good as the full size. I only wish the directions were a little better at describing how to "dial" the skimmer in. It takes some time playing with the air valve to get the correct level of air. I would certainly advise others looking for a nano skimmer to spend the extra bucks this skimmer costs, it is well worth the investment.
