Innovative Marine

Innovative Marine has got you covered.

Provide protection for your livestock and encase any aquarium with this complete Do-It-Yourself mesh screen lid kit.

Glass lids trap in heat, do not allow proper evaporation and build up salt creep that can hurt light penetration Stylish mesh screen tops are the answers to these woes by being lightweight, allow zero heat buildup and have very little impact on light penetration.

Each kit includes: a cut to size frame, trimmable mesh screen, spline and break-away corners for cord management.

Its a quality kit

All in all its a good kit. The rails are easy to cut, the spline is really tough to get in. I am 6'2", 190lb and I could not physically push it in by hand. Get a good wood spline roller, twist the spline to thin it a bit and PUSH! It is obviously designed for drilled tanks, if you have overflow or return pipes its best to shorten the frame and leave the screen long in the back. I made a You Tube video, screen top on 50B that shows how to make it work. Nice tight mesh, generous amount, I would give it 5 stars if not for the spline being so hard to get in place.

DIY Screen Top

If your living out west or anywhere for that matter forget the glass Versa Top this is the way to go. I did one for a custom made 55g which is 36" wide and also a 48" custom tank which is 48" Wide. Now I'm going to order one for my 20g QT which is standard 30" wide. They have a video the only thing I suggest is go for a few more bucks and buy the thinner screen for $20 you get enough for 5 tanks. It's easier to work and let in the air better and no fish is jumping out.
