Comments: I have always been an IM fan, but had no problem pointing out faults when I experienced them. This Media Reactor is extraordinary. So simple, yet the most amazing product. The construction is genius and works amazingly well. The flow control, the pump, the chambers, the seal at the top.....I just don't know what else to say. It's awesome. I have the NUVO 16 and this is extremely efficient. Another happy customer again !

Excellent for nanos

Comments: I purchased a pair of the desktop models for my 12g long mixed reef, and they work very well. I have them mounted in an AquaClear 110 HOB (being used as a sump) along with a Tunze 9002 skimmer, Finnex 100W titanium heater and pH, Temperature and Salinity probes. Every thing fits perfectly in the filter body with room to spare. The reactors are very well built and the flow can be easily adjusted. Media can be tumbled at whatever rate you require. Minimum water level appears to only be a few inches (enough to keep the pump and the lower third of the reactor submerged. There is a small amount of water 'trickle' sound generated, but its pretty minor - certainly MUCH less than the sound from the skimmer. The only fault I have found with these is the sticker on the inner tube that was a pain to remove and clean the glue residue from. Innovative Marine really should have used the same, easy to remove sticker as was used on the outer tube.

Pretty slick - ideal for nanos

Comments: I was tired of using media bags in my nano system (Solana 34G AIO), but I hadn't been able to find a reactor that would be easier to maintain. All of the other nano reactors I had seen seemed to require complete disassembly before changing the media. Not my idea of an improvement. Then I saw this new MiniMax on a couple of my favorite aquarium blogs (AquaNerd and AdvancedAquarist) and was instantly sold on the innovative design. I tried my new MiniMax Midsize with RODI water and some new media before I put it into my tank and it operates just as shown on the video. It seems to be super easy to adjust flow and the best part is how easy it is to add/remove media without affecting the rest of the reactor. Due to the unique design (with water falling over the top of the inside tube into the outside tube) there was a bit of "falling water" noise when I was testing it outside of the aquarium, but once the MiniMax was in my aquarium I couldn't hear it over the normal sounds of my aquarium (skimmer and return pump). The MiniMax does what a reactor is supposed to do and appears to be solidly built. 5 stars until I have a reason to rate it otherwise.
