I bought a blue light and a white light strip and found problems with the white light. The light strip shuts off initally after 10 min of on time and will come back on after a period of time but the on time is much shorter like 5 min. Not sure what the problem is the light is plugged into a power surge protector. I have returned for a replacement will see if it is better performing. The actin light works great!

I really like this light and it solves a problem I have with another LED light (a Marineland 36 inch double strip) installed on another freshwater tank. That problem being light not containeded to the tank being spewing from the light hood into the room. The Marine Skkye Light solves this problem by having the Leds covered by the hood along the sides and this contains the light from spewing around the room. One thing about LED is that they are focused directly below the light and you see pools of direct light below the indivual LEDs. Minor and not objectional accept when fish are at the top of the water and away from this cone of light. The fish are then in a noticeable shadow. This is a small area though and seems to not happen with double strip lights (which Skkye are not). All things considered LEDs are the way to go and much better than other lights for my fresh water tanks. Skkys's are fine quality and relatively inexpensive.

Really liked the light strip, very well built and has a nice appearence, only complant would be I mounted it under a canopy in stead of useing the brackets provided to set it on top of the tank and had to order a seprate bracket kit witch I thought was allitle costly at another $15.00

I've had this light on my 7.5 gallon nano for about 2 months now and everything is doing amazing under it. I have mostly mushrooms & a few soft corals they have all gotten bigger since this light has gone in. I would recommend it for any small tanks with softies

I bought this light in the 18 inch 14k ,for a ten gallon nano reef. I plan to upgrade to a rimless tank and add 2 more units ,but wanted to see what groth I would get from it ,as it could be a sump light if it wasn't any good. I am housing sps ,(Montiporha), and softies. One month in and everything is growing well! I would consider my setup Medium lighting. Good finish, and quite a bang for the buck. 2 thunbs up!

I bought this strictly as a source of light for my son's freshwater tank. The tank is a 15 gallon wall tank and tt serves it's purpose for proper lighting. I specifically bought this as it is narrow enough to fit on the top of the tank. I am not sure this would be sufficient to light a marine aquarium or to support any type of coral, soft or stony. The 14,000K light gives a very bluish tint to the tank which is ok for FW.
Just my 02 cents.
