Comments: This salt is the best mix we have used. Very easy and accurate. My husband is the hobbiest...I am caretaking for his tanks while he is deployed in the desert. This tank is a Nano reef and needs every 10 day water changes and the Instant Ocean Reef Crystals has been the most convienient and accurate for me. I highly recommend this product! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Unsatisfactory

Comments: I bought a bag of this stuff to try the "reef" mix and it's the last one I'll every buy. For some reason my dendrophylia hates the stuff. After the first wc with it the dendro totally contracted into it's skeleton and the skin started to "peel" and flake off. At first I though it was some strange thing and after a while it recovered. But after a second wc and the same thing happened I knew it was the salt mix. I went back to Tropic Marin for a while and started testing Ph, found it was mixing very high so I thought maybe that was the problem with the Reef Crystals. Tried the Reef crystals one more time, checked parameters carefully, and now the dendro is peeling again! I'm throwing this junk out. It takes a lot more salt by volume to make a batch of water to 35ppm, so there must be a lot of who-knows-what in there. Also has an odd smell. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: i have used RC for 6-7 years now. its use to be very consistant. now almost every bucket is different. the last batch had alk levels of 4.4meq/l when mixed to a salinity of 35ppt. i called them and they said this was where is should be at that salinity. the Ca+ has been 350ish at 35ppt salinity and Mg+ 1100. lets see; Ca+ 350 alk 4.4 Mg 1100 those numbers suck....... Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I run an aquarium maintenance business. All 36 of my reef tanks thrive on this stuff. The best way to use this mix or any other is frequent smaller changes and the rest is cake. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I am disgusted with this product. I have faithfully used it for 4 years. Now, 2 buckets in a row, have had inconsitent readings of Ca, dKH/Alk, and Mag when compared to previous buckets. The company considers the readings "normal" regardless of the fact that the batches are so different. I do not trust it. Its inconsistency, I feel directly resulted in the loss of some SPS. I do not recommend this product any longer! I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I started out 1 year ago using instant ocean and it worked great... I moved over to reef crystals about 8 months ago when i started to get more and more coral... It does a great job but now i have alot of coral and im looking at different options just to make myself more of an expert.... Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: These reef crystals have proven to be top notch. I control my levels through small frequent water changes, without dosing anything. This product has maintained my calcium and PH levels very consistantly. I would recommend this product, and this online store to anyone looking for high quality at a reasonable price. Comments: I have always only used reef crystals for my marine tanks since it first came out. I believe it to be as good as the higher priced salts out there, with numbers that are acceptable for any reef. Extra supplementation is necessary, but when is it not? Also, my order came with a rip in the bag and salt had leaked everywhere. I contacted Marine Depot (Kira M.) and the next morning, not even 14 Hrs. later, I had a new bag of salt delivered to my doorstep. I ordered 5 day delivery. The folks at Marine Depot sent it to me as a replacement over night, no questions asked at no extra charge. This group is phenomenal and there is no reason to order any where else. Thank you Marine Depot! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I used this product some years back. After mixing I would usually measure the water parameters before water changes. The batch I was using of this product had a calcium level of around 200. Other parameters seemed ok relatively speaking. I never used the product again. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: As we all know everyones tanks are different due to setups and husbandry. Reefcrystals just happens to be the best salt mix i have ever used in my tank. Ive been using it with great success for the past two years. What makes me even more excited is Marine Depot now carrys it. My LFS sells the same 5gal bucket for $80 which is just nuts. I can order it from MD for $80 shipped to my door. THANK YOU MARINE DEPOT!!!!! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I've been using this mix for about 4 years now and have found this to be the best mix for me. I've tried a couple of other mixes at various times, and have had some serious problems with a few and other's have been OK. But I have found that IO RC Salt mix seems to be the most consistent and best mix for my systems so far. I haven't had any big algae blooms like I did with one brand, nor did I have calcium or PH issues like I did with others. Just a very solid and consistent good result. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I really enjoyed the new 4 hydro korolia series 4 pumps and the salt i ordered. The pumps work excellant, just what i wanted and love the fact they are magnets instead of suction cups. I have used the reef cystals before, it is great for adding salt and other minerals at the same time. Only thing i wish is that marine depot would accept paypal bank as well. I ordered with a money order which you would think would take longer, but i actually recieved my order before other orders the same day using paypal. well thanks again. sincerely, Jason Sneed Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I've been waiting for this salt to pop up here on MD for a while now. I've heard a lot of positive feedback from people who have used it in the past. Other salt mixes just smelled like chlorine, but this salt has added vitamins in the mix...and you can actually smell the difference- before and after you mix it with RO water. I've also noticed greater polyp extension in my gargonian colony and an SPS frag that was going downhill. I've only been using it for less than a month, but I think it is definitely a keeper! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: For a salt that claims high calcium, it consistently measured in a 320 to 350 ppm. If you have a tank that repuires no calcium whatsoever, this is the salt for you. There are much better salts on the market unless you like spending extra on additives to achieve nsw values I would not recommend this product to my friends.
