Looks great but....

This nano aquarium looks wonderful. Modern and sleek , however functionally it is crap. The overflow is too low causing the waterline to show. Waterline is about an inch from top and that just look bad. The LED's and not powerful enough to keep anything except low light critters. I did not get htis to keep sps or anything like that so not an issue for me. (upgrading the lights is easy if you want to go that route) . The lights and the pump are powered by the same plug using a splitter so you cant use a timer , unless you buy another plus. The only way to turn the lights on and off or change intensity or color is via a remote....what happens when the remote batteries die and you don't have any on had, or better yet when the remote gets lost.
The pump that came with the aquarium did not work, JBJ was very quick to offer a replacement but they next 3 replacement pumps did not work either. I finally got a working pump. This tank has now been set up for many months now with just some tonga branch and a couple hermits.

In a word - meh.
fun to play with the remote control lights
The filter and lights plug into a Y connector, making it impossible to put the lights on a timer without buying a second transformer. At the time of this writing, JBJ did not have any to buy. You need to find one in a Radio Shack, etc.
The hinge for the top is flimsy and can break easily. Even though there are supports to prevent breakage (like a car hood) the hood does not open fully when they are used, making it difficult to clean the back of the tank.
