Be Careful in Ordering

I have searched many brands of 3watt UV Sterilizers. I was convinced that the JBJ would not leak. I just wanted to alert purchasers that please make sure you are receiving the correct product seen on the add you are purchasing. I purchased the JBJ from another merchant and was sent the Nano Zapp.It does not appear like the picture on the add. This product leaks badly and to the point that the bulb will break at the contacts. I went to the point to have a plumber look it over and saw that the seals are useless and of course an electrical danger. I know I will stay with purchasing from Marine Depot. I see many good reviews but maybe they could share how they corrected any leak problems.

Could not be happier!

I had an algae/bacteria outbreak in my tank that clouded it up so much that I could barely see two inches inside (24 gallon nano). I installed this on Monday and 5 days later my tank is crystal clear. I could not be happier with my purchase!

C+

The ends are not accurate 1/2" fittings. They are a tiny bit smaller. The included 1/2 ID tubing is too loose.

Seems to work

I have always found it difficult to review UV sterilizers because they are usually running internally and makes it difficult to evaluate. That being said, this model seems to work ok. I noticed that the fittings and piping provided are fairly loose fit. I have this hooked up to a MJ1200 in my JBJ28 nano cube. I realize this is a bit over the recommended flow rate, but I have noticed that water leaks out near the fittings where the hose does not fit tight. The light does turn on, so I assume it is doing its job. This does increase the temperature in the tank a bit. I have it running only at night for this reason. For a nano JBJ28, I don't think there is a better product on the market. Thank you MarineDepot for the quick shipping.

Jbj 12

I purchased this to use on my Jbj 12 nano cube. It's was way to long to fit like instructions said to install. I guess it's only for the jbj 24. Plumbing it was a pain. If you have the 12 nano I'd look else where.

Trash

Absolute trash... there is a reason it is so cheap. Leaks like a sieve! Threw the one I bough in the trash the about five minutes after installing it. I didn't try to return it because I was embarrassed for attempting to go the cheap rought. You get what you pay for.

Leaks

Those reviews that say the product leaks. Yes, it is true. Thankfully I have teflon tape and clamps and the sterilizer is contained in my sump so its alright but yes it does leak. I cannot comment yet on the effectiveness since my tank is new, but other than leaking, it's very easy to setup.
