Comments: Excellent scraper. Just what I was looking for. You have to put a little elbow into it but at least you don't have to worry about scratching the glass. I tried the plastic scrapers and they are totally worthless! This metal is the way to go if you're worried about scratches and cuts from a razor. Definitely safer. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: WILL scrape your glass! I have the ruined tank to prove it! Nothing like looking through glass with a bunch of lines in it! I will be complaining to Kent Marine as well. Buy plastic or buy something else. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Works great on algae, not that great on coraline algae. Noticed it scratched my glass trying to get the coraline algea off. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The scraper works well but I find myself fighting with the handle alot because it slips on the stick when applying pressure to the glass for scraping. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This scraper works great. I really enjoy using this more than the magnet scrapers. It's much easier trying to fit this in between rocks and equipment than a magnet. Good reach and quality made. Great for dragging algae up to the surface against the glass. Good for getting harder stuff off that the pads on the magnets will never get off. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I had purple coralline algae completely coating the back and most of the sides and front of my tank. I was getting very desperate because my magnetic cleaner wasn't working on it. I thought I would try this, but didn't expect it to work because I didn't think I could get enough force on it without breaking the handle. Happily, I was wrong and within a few hours I had removed all the algae except on the back glass, which I actually want to keep anyway. It's slim enough to get between the rocks and glass even where the magnet was too thick. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: + I opened the WELL PACKAGED(thanks!) scraper and blade, and was immediately surprised at the high quality shaft and thick, high quality blade.- There are 2 downfalls. First, the blade is just not that sharp. To be more effective against coralline it would need to sharper, in my opinion. The other thing is that although the quality of the shaft is very high, the product as a whole does not tackle coralline algae as well as I had hoped. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: As a proud owner of a piraya tank I have been in search for a long handled scraper that didnt require my fleshy hand to be submerged into the tank for a possible snack. I have had a problem with the hard green algae on my tank sides for some time. I've tried algae pad scrubbers but they were almost useless and i have grown tired of blocking off one side of the tank with plexiglass while I use a short handle hardware store glass scraper. I was amazed at how easy this scraper took off the algae. Its long handle flexes slightly but you can still put plenty of pressure on it to remove even the toughest freshwater algae. Some say the blades are weak but they are very similar to a razor blade in flexibility and if you take caution while using it you shouldnt have any problems with them bending. Now I have to say I am not a clean tank freak. I leave some algae in corners and elsewhere...remember a little algae in your tank is healthy! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This scraper is not the scraper for a 50 gallon tank with a hood on top. It's simply too long to get the right angle with the glass without hitting the lights. I cut off about 10 inches (difficult, it's an incredibly durable composite material like fiberglass) so I could get the handle far enough away from the glass walls to actually be able to scrape. If I were able to change the design of this product, I'd put the blade on a steeper angle. I have a lot of coralline algae growth that was built up and it took me well over an hour to get the glass clean. All in all, the product is of very high quality, I just bought the wrong length thinking I could use it without getting my hands in the water. The angle was wrong so I ended up cutting it to get the right angle. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This review concerns coralline algae (pink, purple, red) cause let's face it why else would you need a scraper over a magnet. This is an average scraper on a long handle. I actually have this one, the 12 inch, the 24 inch, and the handheld scraper. ADVANTAGES to this brand of scraper are that several lengths are available, a sturdy handle with a nice grip at the end, color coded blade for glass versus acrylic, interchangeability of blades between the different length handles, and this 35 inch version also has the option of becoming longer by purchasing the extension kit. The DISADVANTAGES are that the blades are cheaply made and bend easily (which is sad since the handles feel well made), replacement blades are expensive, and the blades can be hard to remove due to the integrated plastic notch that holds the blade in place. CONCLUSION: I use this brand of scraper for getting off small amounts of coralline algae. Large amounts of coralline are exceedingly difficult to remove with this tool, I have used up to 3 blades for a single cleaning session with good success for small build up, but inadequate performance for large amounts since the blades would bend and I would have to replace them to get good surface contact. Also keep in mind that leverage is more difficult the longer the handle gets. With this 35 inch model this is especially true. I would recommend this product for hard to reach places you can’t get to with a hand scraper and for people that keep up with maintenance so that coralline algae doesn’t have a chance to get out of control. Comments: As I expected, the proscraper does exactly what it is supposed to do. Which is scrape off algae. It does a great job, and the handle is very helpful stirring up gravel and moving rocks without having to get down into the tank (I have a 55 gallon tank) with my hands. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This is the best thing I have ever used for scrapping algae. You need to buy one. No more killing yourself to scrub algae or needing to stretch to the ultimate to clean your tank. This scraper is an amazing product. The blades do bend easy, so avoid scraping with the corner of the blade. Other than that the product is A++++++ Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
