Description:
Tech M Magnesium supplement is a ionically balanced product which will safely raise the magnesium level in any marine system without upsetting the ionic balance of the system. Tech M is very concentrated, containing over 70,000 ppm of cationic magnesium, and is nitrate, phosphate and gluconate free!
Directions:
Important: Shake vigorously immediately prior to use! The preferred method is to test the magnesium level in your aquarium, then add Tech M at the rate of 1 ml per gallon aquarium capacity per day to bring the level to between 1250 and 1350 ppm. This will raise the level by 18.4 ppm per day. As a routine supplement, if not testing, add two teaspoons (2 capfuls or 10 ml) per 50 gallons tank capacity every week in all marine systems.
Considerations for use:
If you have trouble maintaining calcium or buffer level, check to see that the salt mix you are using has seawater level of magnesium. To save money and increase dissolvability, some manufacturers of popular newer salts have included only half the level of magnesium necessary in their sea salt mixes, resulting in low calcium solubility and poor buffering!
Tech M Magnesium supplement will provide the magnesium left out by salt manufacturers or increase the magnesium level in any system. This will provide for easier maintenance of alkalinity (buffering capacity) and calcium level.
Note:
It is normal for this product to form a sediment in the bottle. Shaking before use will suspend this sediment which will dissolve when added to the aquarium.

Deionized water containing the following elements (as ions): magnesium, chlorine, sulfur, calcium, potassium, bromine, strontium, boron, fluorine, lithium, rubidium, iodine, iron, molybdenum, zinc, nickel, copper, manganese, vanadium, cesium, cobalt, tungsten, selenium, and chromium.
Precautions:
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN! If in eyes, wash with water for 15 minutes. If swallowed or in eyes, call a physician. If on skin, rinse with water. Not for human consumption.

I am only giving the review a 4 star because I am not a scientist with a lab that can analyze the contents and decide if they are lab grade materials, but, it did raise my mag as advertised. It didnt kill anything or make anything shrivel up so thats a plus also. I do think it could be a wee bit more concentrated to maybe 22-25ppm per 1mil but all in all not bad. Now that I think of it, if they just had it concentrated so it would not be such a bulky item, that would be nice also for us big tank users. Again, all in all a decent product.

Worked a treat on my Bryopsis. The Tech M was part of a three pronged attack against the nuisance algae. Careful manual extraction, aggressive skimming coupled with carbon dosing, and the Tech M eradicated the eye-sore in less than a week. I was skeptical at first, but after several weeks of skimming and manual extraction proved unsuccessful, I gave it a shot. Highly effective.

I was having difficulty getting rid of bryopsis in my 120g reef. Also, after 10 months I had very little coraline algae growth in my tank. Calcium measured at 390ppm, Magnesium (Mag) at 1200ppm. My salt mix does not supply enough Mag. I started adding Tech M according to instructions, 1ml per gallon each day. Raised Mag about 20ppm per day as expected. After only a few days, coraline algae really started to take off which surprised me. The bryopsis started to die rather quickly after only 1 week. Unfortunately, some of my turbo snails died by the third dose. After the fourth dose, I found my Sally Light Foot dead. I know it just happened because he was still alive the day before. My fish, coral, and 2 cleaner shrimp seem unaffected. I will stop dosing at 1350ppm Mag to be safe. I suspect this product has small amounts of copper in it, which would explain the deaths. The bottle does not list copper however, it's listed on this web product page.

Tech M wiped out the algae in my tank in 6 days! (i had a large deficiency and only dosed according to directions)... anyway i basically made the decision about a two months ago to either fix my tank up once and for good or just get rid of it altogether... so i decided i would go all in and bought almost all of Kent Marine's products and started dosing as directed and WOW! My hard and soft corals have never looked so good, my inverts are doing great, my fish have always been fine but seem to eat better now, my algae is gone, and im wondering why i havent done this sooner. Along with Kent supplements, a UV sterilizer, ferric oxide, and a well tuned skimmer my tank is rockin now, in fact i just ordered some nice large corals for it because it looks so awesome.

Plucking bryopsis from rocks had become part of my routine, one that I could never keep up with. I finally ran across the idea to use this product. I already had 1500 ppm magnesium using Seachem magnesium (I use all Seachem products), so I added Kent Tech M according to the instructions so as to bring it up, over 4 days time, to around 1650 ppm. After doing that, I found that magnesium tested at 2100 ppm. I did not mean to get it that high, but bryopsis looks to be fading away fast, and once scraped from a rock, does not seem to be growing back much, if at all. I say go easy on this stuff until you know how it is affecting your water. But, if it keeps the bryopsis down, I will always keep this in my tank!
