BEST PRACTICES FOR INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
  • To hang the LED for aquarium use from a wood, acoustic or similarly textured ceiling, mount 2 metal hooks and hang the light by its brackets. The metal hooks should have diameters of at least 2.5mm and thread numbers of at least 6.
  • For sufficient airflow, the intake and venting holes should be at least 12 inches from surrounding obstructions.
  • Kessil recommends A150W lights to be placed 1 to 2 feet above the aquarium being illuminated.
  • Plug the light’s power supply into an outlet with the proper specifications.
  • Do not use the A150W lights outdoors. They are intended for indoor use only.
  • Keep the air vents and fan clear of dust. To clean the fan, insert the tip of a CO2 (or similar) dust blower into one of the vent slots and spray.
  • Keep the diffuser (lens) clean. If the diffuser becomes contaminated with water, dust or other particles, clean it with isopropyl alcohol. Wet a cotton swab or a napkin in isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the surface of the diffuser and let it dry.
MANUFACTURER WARRANTY
Kessil warrants, to the original buyer, all of its products to be free from defects in both workmanship and material for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Kessil will replace or repair to proper working condition any products that are returned under warranty. Products repaired or replaced under warranty are only warranted for the remaining unexpired period of time of the original warranty.

Comments: I have two of the A150W, and really love the look of the tank. However, at 1 year and 3 months, one of the lights is overheating and cycling on and off. The light hasn't been abused and its been dusted per the manufacturers direction with a CO2 can. This website indicates a 2 year warranty. However, the manufacturer's warranty info indicates only 1 year. I suddenly love it less.

Amazing!

Comments: To anyone who is reading this review. Everything good thing that you've read about this light is 100% true. At first I thought it was going to be too blue, but for me it is just the perfect amout of blue. The light feels and looks subdued to the naked eye. Its a very cool color output and doesn't look like daylight. I would equate the color of the light to what it would look like when sunlight is penetrating down to about 25-40 feet of water in the ocean. The intensity of the light is amazing and should not be underestimated, keep the light as high as you can with the gooseneck mount when acclimating your coral too the new light. Colors and polyp extension is like I've never seen in my coral before. Install was ridiculously easy and resulted in an amazingly clean look. I'm using the Ocean Blue for a 20 gallon rimless nano, soft/lps & some sps. Just one of these little Kessils is way more than enough light. It really may be too blue some some people's taste. If you know that you want your light to be whiter, definitely go with the Sky Blue. But if you like or are aiming for a deeper ocean look (especially for softie/lps dominant tanks), the Ocean Blues will help you achieve this.

Best light fixture I own

Comments: I have had this light for nearly 6 months now, and love it. No heat at all, can't hear the cooling fan, and really packs a punch as far as my par reading goes even at about 24" of water. My corals took a few days to get used to it, but are all now thriving. The only coral that didn't like it were my zoanthids, but they don't like any of the three LED fixtures I have. I give it 5 thumbs up!

Comments: I love the brightness it brings to the greens. The only problem I may have is with my rbta. It hasn't fully inflated since the lights went on a week ago. I put 3 on my 55 gallon reef.

Comments: I recieved both of my kessils very quick shipped same day as purchase. Very easy to attach the lights to the goosenecks extremely quiet. Puts off virtually no heat beautiful shimmer i am currently waiting for my 2 ocean blues i ordered a week later to ome in the mail which also shipped same day.. i recommend these lights to anyone who can afford an upgrade they are fantastic thank you !

Comments: I have one light on a Fluval Ebi and it has done wonders for my HC. Since I added this light, I have seen pearling from all of my plants. Great design, very sleek, very clean. Clears up the top of my tank for better access, with the gooseneck arm.fan has minimal noise, so quite that my inline heater clicking-on is louder. All of my fish and inverts began to come out moreand be more active after adding this, even though this light is brighter. All in all I'd say there is nothing wrong with this light, in the proper placement. Longevity is unknown, but will be monitored.

Comments: If I could give this product 10 stars I would. After being disappointed time and time again after purchasing leds from namebrand companies. I am totally amazed by this light. It is small,compact,and quiet. The color is crisp and mimics that of 14,000k metal halide. Easy to install right out of the box.

Comments: I have 4 of these (2X10k +2X15k)over my 120gal (4X2X2) reef. The light is more than adequate for my tank which is primarily comprised of east to keep soft corals. Polyps appear to thrive and multiply, fish seem happy, and the blend of the sky blue and ocean blue looks natural. Compared to non-LEDs, the power consumption is minimal and I have noticed no heat transfer to the tank. I haven't noticed the noise that some others have commented on. Overall, these are exceptionally well-built, bright, and efficient lights. Highly recommended, especially for the price.

Comments: I have 3 of these on my 125 gallon FOWLR. I am working on adding a total of 6 and have a reef eventually. I have the 15K and it is a little too blue for me but I don't have corals yet and will make that final decision later. The shimmer is phenomenal and it is what I love the most about this awesome little light.
