Kordon AlgaeQuel™ is a liquid chemical algae control for freshwater aquarium, fountain, and small pond use. It is an effective EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) approved algaecide registered in the States of the U.S.A., (see Warning below under Contraindications and Toxicity") for use in all types of freshwater aquariums, fountains, and small ponds for the control and elimination of algae.

AlgaeQuel`s primary purpose in aquariums and ornamental ponds is to protect the fishes by being nontoxic to them, and being compatible with Kordon products such as water conditioners and fish treatments.
Among AlgaeQuel`s benefits are that it is equally effective in the range of fresh and hard waters used for freshwater fishes. It does not affect the beneficial bacteria of the biological nitrogen cycle in aquariums and ornamental ponds. AlgaeQuel is compatible with all Kordon water conditioners and all Kordon medications, and other medications on which it has been tested. Other benefits are that AlgaeQuel does not affect the pH (acidity and alkalinity) of the water, and does not permanently discolor the water. AlgaeQuel has a long indefinite shelf life expected to be active for many years.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
(Note: When using drops measure them with a medicine dropper that will measure in the range of10 drops per 0.5 mL For other droppers calculate the proportionate number of drops for this measure.)
For 10 gallons (37.85 liters) use 6 drops of AlgaeQuel For 20 gallons (76 liters) use 12 drops of AlgaeQuel For 30 gallons (114 liters) use 18 drops or 1/2 teaspoon or 1/2 capful of AlgaeQuel For 40 gallons (151 liters) use 24 drops or >1/2 teaspoon or >1/2 capful of AlgaeQuel For 45 gallons (170 liters) use 27 drops or 3/4 teaspoon or 3/4 capful of AlgaeQuel For 50 gallons (189 liters) use 30 drops or >3/4 teaspoon or >3/4 capful of AlgaeQuel For 60 gallons (227.1 liters) use 5 milliliters or 1 teaspoon or 1 capful of AlgaeQuel For 120 gallons (454.2 liters) use 10 milliliters or 2 teaspons or 2 capfuls of AlgaeQuel For 180 gallons (681.3 liters) use 15 milliliters or 1 tablespoon or 3 capfuls of AlgaeQuel For 360 gallons (907 liters) use 30 milliliters or 2 tablespoons or 6 capfuls of AlgaeQuel
Aquariums, Ornamental Ponds, and Small Fountains - Add recommended dosage near the water filter outflow or where there is water circulation in order to mix the dosage into aquarium or pond water rapidly. After usage, remove dead algae from the water. Repeat dose every three days until algae is controlled. Repeat dosage once per week for maintenance in those aquariums, fountains, and ponds that have exposure to light that causes algae to form. To calculate capacity of fountain or pond: multiply in feet length x width x depth = cubic feet x 7.5 = U.S. gallons.
Caution: In aquariums, fountains and ponds with fishes ensure that water is well aerated via waterfall, water flow, or aeration to prevent fish loss from lack of oxygen. Treat only those aquariums, fountains and ponds that do not have an external outflow.
SPECIFICATIONS Active Ingredients are Poly(oxyethylene) (dimethyliminio) ethylene (dimethyliminio) ethylene dichloride 5.40%. Other ingredients 94.60%. E.P.A. Reg. No. 14802-8-83765 E.P.A. Est. No. 14802-TX-01 STABILITY So far as is known for this formulation, AlgaeQuel is stable indefinitely when stored in a cool, dark area away from heat and direct sunlight. AlgaeQuel should be kept tightly closed when not in use. For safety`s sake KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN
COMPATIBILITIES AlgaeQuel is safe to use as prescribed in aquariums, fountains, or ponds with freshwater fishes, and for freshwater plant-life other than algae. This product will not interfere with biological filtration or its bacteria.
CONTRAINDICATIONS AND TOXICITY AlgaeQuel is registered with the EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) and is an approved algaecide registered in the States of the U.S.A., including California (see Warning below under Contraindications and Toxicity"). As required by U.S. EPA regulation, AlgaeQuel is not to be released into the sewer or environment. High water temperatures cause more rapid natural decay of dead algae which can cause fish distress. If fish are present in the water while treating with AlgaeQuel, clean excess dead algae as it accumulates. It is recommended to use AlgaeQuel before the water temperature exceeds 75 degrees fahrenheit (=24 degrees centigrade). In ponds ensure that water is well aerated via waterfall, fountain or other method to prevent fish loss. Aeration must be continuous during use of AlgaeQuel. Caution: Not safe for use with mollusks such as snails and clams, or with crustaceans such as shrimp.
PRECAUTIONS: Hazards to Humans and Domestic Animals. Harmful if absorbed through skin or swallowed. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after use.
FIRST AID IF IN EYES: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first five minute, then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice.
FIRST AID IF ON SKIN OR CLOTHES: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
FIRST AID IF SWALLOWED: Call poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water, if able to swallow . Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by the poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Have the product container or label with you when calling a Poison Control Center of doctor or going for treatment.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL: Do not contaminate water, food or feed during storage of this product. For Storage: Keep container closed when not in use. Leaking or damaged containers should be placed in a plastic bag and discarded in trash. Mop up spills with clear water. Keep out of reach of children. For Disposal: Do not reuse empty container. Wrap container and place in trash.
