Wow! This works even better than claimed! For me it worked best with a magnetic algae cleaner with a decent amount of patience. Follow the instructions and you can't go wrong! Work each grade of sandpaper longer than you think you should, as instructed; and by the time you get to the finest grade your acrylic tank will look beter than new.

Great product for removing scratches from acrylic Tanks. Had several small scratches from sand on cleaning pad. They were quickly and easily removed. I did not have to remove fish and there has been no affect on corals in my tank. A little expensive but it works great.

Like so many others here, a piece of rock got caught in my mag float and it created a footlong scratch on the interior of my display tank. Based on the reviews here on this product, I decided to try it out. What appealed to me the most about this product is that you don't have to empty out your display tank to use it. I used the sander underwater and in about a half hour, the scratch was gone. The instructions are easy to follow! Use with confidence!

Results were outstanding. I used a hammerhead magnet cleaner with a 100 micron felt pad between the sand paper and felt. I used two pro scraper blades on either side of magnet and held in place by rubber bands, this provided good clamping force to hold the sandpaper in place. It took me 4 hours to repair a 300 gallon trapezoidal tank. The curved edges were a challenge. An improvement on the product would be to include a 1000 grit and make the grot pads wider.

So, my buddies wife came over and started dragging my magnet cleaner around my tank. There must have been some sand on there or something because it scratched the heck out of my tank. Talk about being bummed...
I was a little nervous to try this kit but pleasantly surprised how well it worked. I couldn't get the rubber bands to work right so I just stuck my arm in and took my time (go fast and you'll lose half your tank water).
Definitely happy with the results.

Wow! Those were my words after finishing with this product. I had plenty of small scratches. We had a friend over and his kid was cleaning my tank without me know using the wrong side of the magnet! I was horrified. It left so many scratches on my main display glass that I almost cried. Almost got a new tank because of it. I was looking for a product to remove scratches without draining the tank. Glad I found this product. For starters, I did this wet with all my inhabitants still inside. No change whatsoever..everything was left alone..pumps and all running. No effects on fish or corals. Here's a few tips to keep in mind if you plan to do this wet and simple: 1. Turn inside powerhead to high so that it can push all the acrylic debris to skimmer (like another poster suggested) or leave it on if you can't adjust speed. 2. Definitely use your magnet glass cleaner..(same amount of pressure will be applied while sanding and not having to wet your hand). Attach sanding paper with one rubber band on one of the side of the magnet. If you attach rubber band in the middle or use 2 rubber band on each side than the sandpaper will not make good contact with the acrylic glass. 3. Definitely start with the most coarse paper. I started with 1500 (but some may need to buy more coarse like 600-800 if they have deep scratch..but make sure it's waterproof. You can find some at local hardware store if needed). 3. Spend more time sanding with the coarse paper as the finer the grade the more it's polishing rather than removing the scratches. For example, I would sand 15-20 times in the same spot on coarse and maybe 5-6 times on the finder grade. 4. Do only one section of the tank at a time. This will help you see what you are doing. You can't see the marks the sandpaper makes underwater. However, you can look through one of your other glass to see if needed. For example, my tank is 36" long and I'm working on my main display glass. I just broke it into 3 sections and work each section

I was very hesitant about sanding on my acrylic aquarium but I had a scratch on the inside that was driving me crazy. I was switching fish so I had an empty tank to work with and took my time. Follow the instructions exactly as printed and you will have a brand new aquarium! One word of advice, sand it dry and rinse then dry,you can't see the pattern if it is wet,you will understand once you get started.

This is one of the best ways to polish out a scratch. One hurdle for myself is that your going to sand a lot more than what you want to take out. Just have to do it and complete the steps. I tried on a test area that was not too bad on my aquarium and it worked great. I don't feel up to the bad scratch and deep one yet but will some day. Would have thought for the money you would get a little more supplies also from the miniture bottle to the small sand paper so take care of all of it.

I was somewhat skeptical with the kit as I do have 12 years experience building and sanding corian countertops, but I know Aquarium Acrylic is far softer than corian. I used it wet with a fresh water spray bottle and started my sanding across the scratch at right angles and changing directions with each newer and finer cloth, I did my 100 acrylic reef had all the scratches out and looking like new in about 45 minutes. Excellent product. and the sanding clothes are reusable. Well worth the investment. Thanks, excellent customer service and speedy shipping.
