unusual use

I have used this pump and several of it's older models. I get 2 or 3 years out of them before they give up the ghost. Now that may sound like a "negative" but for me it is great. I have a traditional Japanese style cedar soaking tub. A hot tub, but not the lights and fiberglass type. I use these pumps to circulate (mix) the water to even out the temps in the 4 foot deep tub. I also use one to pump water through a filter system of my construction. Water temps are in the 105F area except sometimes I get it way too hot to begin with, say about 140F, and then have to cool it down before use. These pumps are not designed for these temps, hence my being very happy with 2 - 3 years before failure. I even had one run 4 years. The tub is hot over 200 days a year for at least 6 hours of pumping hot water each day. They are great pumps and I will continue buying them.
