The Mag-Float’s Powerful rare earth neodymium magnets enable the easy removal of algae. By dragging the Mag-Float on the outside of the tank, the Mag-Float on the other side of the glass/acrylic surface follows, scraping off the algae with the pad. Most impressively, you will no longer get wet cleaning off the algae from your glass/acrylic aquarium. It will simply float up allowing easy retrieval. Therefore, with its unique floating feature allows easy and efficient movement around the corners of fish tanks, and you will no longer knock over decorations, damage corals and invertebrates. The cleaning Velcro pad remains free of sand or gravel, thus preventing scratching. The ABS plastic, injected molded and toxic free, allows the Mag-Float to be left attached to your aquarium surface at all times. This makes it convenient, and practical for the next clean up job.
Floats up to top for easy pickup. No more reaching your hand into the tank to retrieve. Strong enough to go around corners of the tank. Glass tanks only.

I have been out of the saltwater hobby for five years, had a 30g then upgraded to a 40g display red sea tank. I am just getting back into it and acquiring some need gear for my fluval edge 6g nano. You cannot go wrong with mag-float. If you are looking for a glass cleaner and don't want to risk trying new products, get this and rest with ease.
Works great on fluval edge 6g !

Handy for quick cleaning. Good quality product, wish they made refills for this size. I purchase the small for my 29 gallon bio-cube. The price went up, but still worth the $$.

I bought one of these mag floats and it is great. Gets all but the coraline algae so no complaints, and haven't had to get my hands wet to retrieve it once. Now I just bought one of these for each of my tanks. Also I think Customer Service has the lowest price on this specific one. Previously I bought three of the cheaper ones, what a mistake. I thought since there was a large surface area they would hold good, but it fell off all the time.

The pad on my old mag-float wasn't scrubbing as good after a couple of years of use. I saw replacement pads, but decided to upgrade to the bigger size. Works great! Scrubs even stubborn algae off quickly. Great for my 55 gal. tank.

Mag Float - the original and still the best. This terrific tool makes cleaning algae and sludge from the inside aquarium walls a breeze.
It's perfect for a quick touch up when you don't have the time or interest in a full tank break down clean up. Your glass is left sparkling clean, the fish aren't disturbed or stressed and the water stays inside the tank.
I've used these for years and have them in every size but giant. It's a real plus to be able to clean off the glass without the potential hazard of chemicals or again, spending a great deal of time.
This two piece system depends on magnets of course - and make no mistake even on the small size they're incredibly strong. Get your finger tip caught between them just once and owch!
The side with the rough Velcro material goes inside the tank and the side with the soft felt like padding on the outside, they snap together instantly and your set to go.
Use up and down and back forth motions as you glide it across the glass. If you see "lawn mower marks" they disappear completely with circular motions.
As small as the medium size is it takes a bit of elbow grease to keep them moving, the magnets are that powerful. But the results are perfect.
This said this is an absolute essential for any hobbyist at most any level.
the medium size is far too small for a 125 gallon tank. It's perfect for a 55 gallon and even up to a 75 but I would suggest the Large size for tanks beyond that.
the surface the medium size is to small for aquariums above these sizes.
So go for the Large size, you won't regret it.
They clean up easily enough with just a quick rinse and when you store your Mag Float I think it's a good idea to separate the pieces, leaving them connected eventually drains the magnets.
A brilliant product that does an equally brilliant job.
