Majano Wand Aiptasia & Majano Eliminator Information

The Majano Wand takes a easy approach to removing Majano Anemones from your reef aquarium. It`s so fun and easy you will want Majano Anemones, just so you can destroy them!

The purpose of the Majano Wand is to eliminate Majano Anemones in hobbyist aquariums, as these Anemones are pests. Majano Anemones are pests because they harm fish and coral. Such “pest” Anemones that are inadvertently added to aquariums can multiply very quickly in closed aquarium system.

The Majano Wand does not kill by electrocution, there is never any electricity going into the water. The Majano Wand operates on the principal that when electricity is properly emitted into salt water it produces two gases. One of these gases is hydrogen, which is generated at the stainless steel tip. Hydrogen is the lightest element on earth, which converts into a gas when created, and the gas form of hydrogen is larger than the liquid size of salt water. When the probe of the Majano Wand touches the Majano tissue, it causes the water in the cells of the Majano to turn into hydrogen. These animals are mostly water so the Majano is forced to expand from the inside out at a rapid and drastic scale, which literally disintegrates any living Majano tissue instantly.

The Majano Wand operates on low voltage and will not shock you if your hand, or any part of your body, is in the water. However, care must be taken to ensure safety as the tip of the Majano Wand is sharp.

The entire Majano Wand (including the grey wire) can be submerged in water, but do not get the push button or power adapter wet.

We are proud to write that the Majano Wand was Invented, designed, tested and Manufactured in the USA!

**Please Note: If the user does not fully kill the aiptasia by eliminating all the tissue on the first attempt, the remaining bits will regrow into another aiptasia.

Specifications

Instructions:
  • 1. Uncoil the wires and plug in the power supply. Carefully, remove the plastic cap on the tip of the Majano Wand.
  • 2.Push the button, as you stick the needle in/out and on/over a Majano. Do Not Hold The Button Down when not touching a Majano.
  • 3. Keep sticking the needle in/out and sliding it across the Majano, as it will only kill the parts of the Majano that touch the needle. After five or six insertions, the anemone should be all white and gooey looking.
  • 4. If you see any tentacles or tissue still alive, just touch them/it with the needle while pushing the button. It is sometimes easier to slide the side of the probe along the Majano rather than stick it.
  • 5. If you do not kill the entire animal it is possible for it to regrow in a short amount of time. White “goo” should float to the top when the Majano is dead, remove this goo. Repeat steps 2 and 3 when needed.
  • 6. Don’t keep the button pushed continuously (we are not talking about a minute or two here, we are talking about a larger scale) as the device does emit some gases into the water. (see chart below) After an hour, you can use it again.
  • 7. When finished, Run/Soak the tip in fresh water for a minute and dry completely.
  • 8. Replace the cap and store in original box for safety.
Caution!
Keep the device away from children and be very careful that you don’t stick anyone.
Remember, the rod is acrylic and very fragile, it can break, don’t bend it.
Always keep the push button and power adapter out of water.
The probe is dulled but still sharp, be careful.
Only use according to the directions.

Warranty

Manufacturer`s Warranty: 6 months from date of purchase.

Comments: This product is awesome! I have had problems with aiptasia anemones, and other pesky ones for years. I had always bought a filefish to eat them and take care of problem, however once the filefish ate most of the aiptasia, he would then pick and my corals. I would eventually take filefish out every two months in a 6ft long 125gallon tank and take him back to fish store, this was an annoying problem to tend too... I bought aiptasia x, however I believe that product can do some damage to an aquarium.... So on to the majano wand, I didn't think it would work as well... What do you know it works great, takes care of a big pesk in maybe 20seconds. It's important to use side of wand and tip... You can eliminate the aiptasia over a few sessions per instructions as this product does release some gasses into tank. I followed recommended time for my tank and had no problems. For the price if you have pesky anemones it is worth every penny.

Comments: I purchased the product to target majano in a 120 gallon reef with a SEVERE infestation. Without exaggeration there were thousands of them. A sane person would have probably removed all the rock from the aquarium and dried it out or thrown it away. This would mean completely starting over. Chemical products were not getting me anywhere with the quantities I had to deal with. The process with the Majano Wand took a lot of time but was remarkably more effective in the battle. I spent an hour or so every couple days for almost three months, then a couple times a week for another month, and now 20 to 30 minutes a week. I don't think they will ever be completely gone but that is not a surprise given what I started with. I still need chemicals for hard to reach places, and for majano embedded deep in crevices or porous rocks but the wand saved the rock in my tank from being trashed. It also helped greatly in reducing inadvertent damage to other corals (particularly mushrooms) that inevitably would be affected by attacking such large quantities of majano with chemicals. I believe most people will find they still need some chemical products (like Aptasia-X)along with the wand, but for majano the wand has been an excellent part of the strategy. I recommend it to anyone with majano especially if you are losing ground with chemicals. Don't wait for it to get out of control! I have a similar problem now with glass anemones but with the majano under control I will likely try peppermint shrimp or other predators to do the work for me.

Comments: This is a GREAT product to help in the war against aptasia or majano anemonies. You have to understand the biology of what you are dealing with, as these critters will regenerate in hours if you do not destroy every cell in the base of the anemonie. The great thing about this tool is that it is chemical free, the needle fits into small holes to reach the ones that pull back in and target the base even if its in a nook or cranny. It will take a few days of effort hitting up heavily infected areas, but I have been able to eliminate close to 100 of them in the first few uses with only about 1/4 coming back the next day.

Comments: I had probably 80 to 100 Majano and in 3 days I was down to about 10. A couple days later I had them gone also. For the next week or so, just a little "minor maintenance" work took care of the few remaining little budding ones. It was a pleasure bubbling those horrible creatures to death. With patience and persistence they can be eradicated fairly quickly. I highly recommend this product. If you have some tight spaces then I'm sure the Mini-Majano Wand would work just as well.

Comments: I have spent hundreds of dollar$ trying to protect my high dollar coral from aiptasia.Filefish and butterfly fish inevitably nip or destroy lps.Peppermint shrimp decimated my stylophoras.Aiptasia X with pumps off still floted into my war coral due to a fish swimming by...end result was 2 month slow death.Berghia are incredible,if they survive other critters in your tank and possible salinity changes.I passed by the wand at an expo thinking it was another novelty item.I should have purchased it then.As long as you can reach all parts of the anemone, this product works just as described. If it sucks back in the rock, come back and get it a few hours later.Thank you for acting upon your idea clever Mr. inventor.

Comments: Was excited to receive this item and put it to work. Needless to say it was a total let down. 1) Not enough power to have an impact.2) Takes too long to kill a single aptasia; let alone a lank full3) There is a limit to how long you can actually run it submerged at any one time - dictated by your water volume4) You'd be better off just "dosing" YOU WILL BE LET DOWN BY THIS PRODUCTNot sure why there are so many 4-5 star ratings for this
