Serviced its purpose

Useful when interducing new fish or isolating sick fish. The hang on handles need to be wider. Very tight to fit over rim of rimed tank. I have not used the vacuum holds but I hate vacuum holds anyway. They never work well. Glad I have this, it's really handy.

Great Product

This box is great for introducing new fish. It gives the established fish time to get used to the new guy and let's the new guy really get used to the water and lighting schedule, greatly reducing shock. It's a little flimsy but okay. I put some 2 inch pvc elbows in it, so the fish can hide, then open the door at night so he can swim out at his own leisure when I feel it's ready. I have had great success cutting down on bullying with this box.

Your new fish will thank you

I put bought the box because the last two fish I had added to my tank were immediately getting picked on and subsequently did not acclimate and died. I added the box and bought a Powder Blue Tang. The fish calmed down right away and started eating within 12 hours. I left the fish in the box for a total of 4 days which allowed it to get used to my tank's chemistry, plus it could see the other fish in the tank and not have to hide. At the same time the other fish in the tank got used to seeing it too. The fish showed no signs of stress at all when I released it to the aquarium. The other fish didn't react to it at all and everyone was and still are happy. The box has a lot of vents which is great for water flow as all the waste and excess foods fall out of its bottom. I recommend adding rubble to the box which allowed the fish to hide and feel more comfortable. The box is expensive, but making one on your own is a pain ( I tried it) and it looked like hell. This is one of the smarted purchases I have ever made for my tank. I undoubted would have saved 100's of dollars, if not more, if I had bought one when I started this hobby.

Quarantine Box

I have not used this Quarantine box yet, but the construction seems sturdy , and I like the fact you have separate compartments within the box for multiple fish. Another fine product Marine Depot offers.

Ok, but not for the price

The basic design of this box is pretty good and it will come in very handy for getting the old fish used to new ones before they can actually get to them. However, the construction is very flimsy. It's also sloppy, the dividers are almost impossible to get in. In the end, it will do the job, but you'll have to be very careful you don't break it and it's WAY over priced for the quality, or lack thereof.

The overall quality and design are excellant, however there are 3 suggestions...........the single hinge on the lid is not going to take much use as it needs two.......my tank is European braced as such the brackets are useless to hang the box, so I went below the brace and used the suction cups to hold the box, they were not strong enough and the box slid down to the bottom of the tank altho the box was still attached to the tank, which showed that the lid needed a catch as the current raised up the lid and would allow the fish to escape.......these were small problems and was easy to work around. that was why I rated 4 stars instead of 5....Ted

got this to use as a hang on refugium/aclimtation box, for the price its not that bad (got it on sale). I called the sales department to ask if the hangers will work with rimmed tanks they said it will, unfortunately it does not (at least not for a 30breeder rim). I wish the sales peeps are well informed on their products especially their own "marine depot products".
