Neptune Systems

The Automatic Feeding System (AFS) is the only automatic fish feeder designed specifically to work with the Apex AquaController. Not only does it seal your food to keep it dry, but it meters out small amounts of food on the schedule you set right in your Apex. And, you can set up more complex feeding routines that tell it to feed only after doing things like turning off your pumps, skimmer, etc. and then having them come back on automatically after feeding time!

Features

  • Feeds pellet or flake food in varying amounts Apex can be set so that the AFS will feed from one time to as many times as you like throughout the day
  • Connects via the Apex Aquabus “Stay Dry” system has a sealed food container that extends and retracts for each feeding. This keeps food dry and prevents clumping and clogging.
  • The lowest setting feeds just a few grains of pellet food so multiple small feedings are possible
  • Allows for optimal feeding — small amounts many times a day
  • Feedings can be combined with other operations such as powering off return pumps, skimmer, etc. and then automatically turning them back on after a set amount of time.
  • Adjustable mounting clip extends up to two inches so it will work in almost every aquarium configuration.
  • Includes 10` AquaBus-mini Cable Compatible with the Apex, Apex Lite, and Apex Jr. AquaControllers.
  • Multiple feeders can be daisy-chained together so that you can have more feed for extended periods away from home or if you want to feed two different kinds of foods.

“Little pricey but great for ondemand feeding”
4.0

I'm using for only when out of town and for ondemand feedings. I can watch the tank from a camera...shut off pumps remotely...and accuate the feeder and watch closely from the cam. Great Apex control.

“Bad unit, bad service”
1.0

Very nosiy! Seems like a 20 dollar product. On top of the poor product, mine broke after just 2 weeks of usage, feeding 1 time a day. The hopper refuse to go back in fully, and feeds 2 times when it's only suppose to feed once. Neptune has a pretty bad warranty process, after they tell me to try...Read More

“inconsistent feeding / buggy”
2.0

I hope nobody is naive enough to put this right on their tank. I recommend testing it over a bowl or something first. If you do that, you will find that it has up to 800% of error. Said differently, you'll see anywhere from 1/4 the food you expect it to output, to 4 times more than you expect. He...Read More

“Lame”
1.0

So noisy, I can't believe it passed QA for Netpune to sell. It works, but again for 100$ not worth it. Sounds horrible, youtube it.

“Very easy setup”
4.0

Setup was very easy, simply followed the directions that were supplied in the box. I'm feeding 2x per day with one rotation. The problem was with the food pellets I'm using. I bought sinking variety but the surface tension of the water still floats 80% of the food. It was just drifting down the ...Read More

“bulky and loud”
3.0

The AFS works, but is way too loud like grinding coffee, also is to bulky, if you set it up on the back of your aquarium you will need a several inches from the wall to get installed, also I thinks is not well designed because the AquaBus connector are in the face so when you plug the cable will sti...Read More
