Know Your Flow!

2" Flow Sensor for the Fluid Metering Module from Neptune.

The FS-200 will work with flow rates from 300-3000 gph, and will connect to any standard 2" Slip PVC.

Usually used with a return pump, this flow sensor can be placed in line with the flow on any pipe, connected to the FMM, and communicate to your Apex the flow rate of water through that pipe. The flow sensor itself uses British Standard Parallel Pipe (BSPP) threads so for all BRS customers we have included two specially designed PVC unions with slip fittings to adapt it to standard 2″ PVC plumbing.

What's Included?

1x 2" Flow Sensor

2x BSPP x 2" Slip Unions

Product Questions

My tank and external pump both use 1.25" plumbing. Would I be able to use the 2" FS-200 or would I be better off using the smaller 1" FS-100 assuming that I had the right plumbing adapters? Also, can this sensor be plumbed on the suction side of an external return pump (i.e. between the sump and the external pump intake), or does it need to go after the return pump?

Hey there,

To eliminate the possibility of creating a choke point and restricting flow through the sensor, I would suggest upsizing to the 2" sensor. The actual volume of water moving through the sensor is what matters, so going slightly large won't be a problem. In theory, you can locate the sensor any where in the circuit of flow as the amount of water movement should be constant, so intake or output shouldn't matter, so long as the intake is not restricted, which could cause cavitation.

Have a great day!

Are you going to sell just the monitor without the unions?

Hey there,
We aren't aware of any plans from Neptune to sell the FMM meters without the unions included, but you certainly can install them without if you prefer.
