I've been using Red Line PM skimmers for three years (my newest one is an RL225) and I have had no problems with this product. The problem most people have with this product and other similar products, is because they don't have an auto water top-off system in place to compinsate for daily water evaporation, which concludes the inconsistant production of skimmate. So for a word of advise, purchase a auto water top-off system and you will be well on your way to a to a great reef or fowler tank.

Appears to be well constructed, but level is touchy to adjust. If you turn off the system circulating pumps while feeding the fish/etc, the sump level rises, requiring you to back off on the skimmer level adjustment, wait for the sump level to get back to normal, and readjust the skimmer setting, which has to be done gradually. Otherwise, the skimmer overflows into the cup and you end up with a cup full of water. Gets to be annoying.

I used this skimmer on my 90g reef aquarium and it worked great. I now use the bigger version and have the same great results. In the beginning it takes a bit of patience to set the dial to exactly the right level but once the skimmer has run for a while and has "broken in" its a breeze. I love that the skimmer cup is easy to remove and empty. Pulls tons of nasty stuff out of the water. I also appreciate that it comes with the pump at a reasonable price.Have been using the PM redline skimmer for 10 months now and couldnt be happier. I would def recommend this product.

Well made product and was easy to set up. Haven't had it that long but started pulling skimmate out soon after I turned it on. It was a bit finicky to set the level but that may change after some time. Overall, well made and I am satisfied.

This skimmer works great. Everyday there is a nice thick black skim in the cup. Adjustments are very easy and the skimmer is not near a touchy as others I've used in the past. For the price I would highly recommend this skimmer.

Quick/easy assembly. set up within 30 min, started pulling out skimmate right away. After a few adjustments over the following days, skimmer is performing quite nicely, pulling out dark green to black gunck out of the water. I can only imagine that the water quality will soon be where I want it to be,and will help in lowering my Nitrates.

First skimmer I`ve used as I`m new to the saltwater hobby.I have it in my 20 gal. sump under a 75 gal. tank.Took a few days to get it adjusted right but now is pulling some really nasty brown crap from my water.Tank has only been running about 3 mo. Seems to do a good job and is built really well.No problems with setup or pump.Very satisfied.

im not happy with this product.it has a hard to adjust water level control.took a long time for froth to start and still not frothing like my cheaper model did. already have problems with the pump.i cant turn it off and plug it back in and just have it run. i have to take it apart and play with it to get it running again.PM said might be the impeller so i will see soon when a new one is sent.scimmer body nice strong acrylic.but even pump seems cheap by the feel of it when you take it out of the box. plus side small foot print. easy to assemble.

After dealing with a Coralife Superskimmer for over a year I was forced to try something new. This skimmer has been great from the minute I plugged it in. It was easy to assemble, small enough to fit in my 30gal sump, and efficient. It was actually pretty easy to dial in too. The price it right too. I wish I had thrown away my Superskimmer months ago and gotten this skimmer. Although no top of the line, it's great for its price range. I keep a 55 gal tank full of corals, inverts, and pipefish and they are super happy. Lots of thick proteinaceous waste from this skimmer.
