Excellent Choice in Reactors

I have tried and used several reactors over my reefing lifetime. This reactor is well made, simple to use, and just plain works. It's nothing fancy, nor as sexy as a Vertex Reactor, but offers a compact package, simplicity in design and easy to use in your sump. All of these are key factors when considering a reactor for your system. These compact reactors take up little room and yet allow for more than enough media to get the job done in my 120 gallon reef. I typically use a cup of Rowa, and just under a cup of carbon Rox 0.8. As mentioned, the reactor is very well made and I'm not sure what the professional model might offer that these do not. The reactor assembles and allows for the use of the included 3/8" barb fittings, but in my case I decided to use 3/8" to 1/2" mur-lok fittings. I like that you can route the mur-lok line and to me, allows for a much cleaner installation. I use a secondary mur-lok valve to help control and dial-in my gfo tumble, and use just the primary valve for my carbon since I run that at full flow. These reactors replaced a Vertex reactor which was just a little to big and cumbersome in my sump and prior to that, two BRS Deluxe reactors. The BRS reactors started to break after a couple of years, but all in all, were also very good, convenient reactors. My only criticism of these PM reactors is that they lack an interior chamber that you can easily remove without making a mess. Although, these are simple enough and with a twist of a top cap, you can carefully drain the reactor and pull it from the sump to dump and replace the old media. Not hard, but just not as neat or clean as the prior BRS reactors. That being my only concern, the Precision Marine offer a very well made product that I anticipate not needing to replace for quite some time! If you are looking for a quality, easy to use media reactor, I would strongly recommend a product from Precision Marine!

Excellent Product

Excellent unit for larger tanks. I didn't want to run two smaller units, so this fit the bill perfectly. I run it with a MJ1200 feed.

Over Price

For the same price you can get two "Two Little Fishies Phosban Reactor 150" to run both carbon and phosphate. The unit I got have a defective O-ring. Marinedepot was good enought to get me an replacement (costed me another $16.00 for shipping back the defective one). I order the 26 inches model; lucky for me is in back order. Cancelled it and get me two "Two Little Fishies Phosban Reactor 150"

Nice piece

This is a very nice quality piece of equipment. Media change is easy and that is what really makes a reactor.

AWESOME UNIT

Attention to detail is obvious every where you look. Clean joints/welds on the acrylic, the quick lock lid is a perfect fit, the hose barbs come with teflon tape. I used a full 1100gram container of phosban media with a MJ1200 to achieve a perfect flow rate. FINALLY a superb phosphate reactor for LARGE systems.

Excellent Product

This reactor looks good, performs exceptionally and without any leaks. Also easy to install. I use a small Rio pump to support the flow (these pumps have an adjustable outlet). I highly recommend this excellent quality product.
