Comments: this works great in my cpr trickle filter with built in skimmers. both skimmers making skimate great and the venturis are not that noisy or prone to plug like i read in some reviews. they are worth more than they cost.

Rio 1700 venturi by MARK COOPER

Comments: I use this pump on a DIY skimmer I built and needed a better venturi option than the homemade version I had come up with. I had used the Rio 600 rvt on a cpr bak pak, so I was familiar with this system. The venturi is working great and with the meshwheel mod that I did on the pump, it's making excellent thick foam and some really foul skimmate. The one issue I found was that the air hose connectors seemed to be wrong to fit the venturi on the output fitting. I managed to make it work, but this should be looked at to make it more convenient.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
