Comments: After using my magnet cleaner I picked up a small piece of sand and proceded to put several scratches across the front of my 55 gal tank. I freaked out thinking I would have to drain the tank to remove the scratches. Not with this product. I started with 1500 and ended with 8000. It came out perfect, attaching the sandpaper to one half of the mag cleaner with a rubber band. If you take your time it will remove even the deepest scratch. GREAT PRODUCT...
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This worked better than expected on the inside of my fish tank while the fish are still in it. The water got a little cloudy but cleared by the next morning. The container says to remove the fish but it is ok to leave them in. I recommend this product.

Comments: I was very nervous about using an abrasive on my acrylic saltwater aquarium. I was nervous that it might make it look worse than when I started. In my case, I had three specific scratches that were obvious and annoying. The rest of the tank was clear. I didn't know which grade of sandpaper to start with, so I started with the coarsest. I spent about 30 seconds with each grade of paper, being careful to rub each one in the opposite direction, as indicated on the instructions. The only real problem I had was that as I neared the end, I couldn't locate the position of the scratch exactly, as it had disappeared. I have only one issue with the product. In the set I received, the finest grade of sandpaper was unlabeled. I could figure it out by process of elimination, but had there been two with this omission, it would have become a problem. Bottom line is that it works, and works great!

Comments: I am no stranger to polishing things (mostly automotive)...so wet sanding out a scratch was a no-brainer to me. But with acrylic I found my typical materials (up to 2000 grit wet/dry paper) were not appropriate. I had decided to try to take out a scratch...which snowballed into "while I'm at it" to just go over everything to remove the hazing/swirling/fine scratches all over. I got to 2000 grit automotive final-prep and still had a mess. It was on the inside so I didn't want to finish with a plastic compound or polish that would be toxic. I ordered this kit and can only say it is completely worth it. The fabric-backed paper makes all the difference and allows for some give ensuring even sanding. And take your time...going up to the 12,000 grit you will have a crystal clear like-new result--if not better than new.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I had some scratches on my tank from the claw end of a hammer (I don't want to say how that happened). This scratch kit was not working at first because the scratches I had were WAY too deep to fix with the coarsest paper (1500) included in the kit. So after getting 320 then using 600, then 1000, I was able to work my way down to finally be able to use the 1500 that was included in the kit. So far so good I have not gone further yet but so far I am impressed & very happy with the results.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I found this product to be very useful. For the cost you cannot go wrong. Be advised that it takes time and patience. Patience is the key in this product and it is not included in the box.

It works great, but... by Koret

Comments: This a great product, but some advice might ease some pain. The acrylic of my 150 gallon tank developed many scratches over 17 years. I hated the idea of draining the tank to remove the scratches, but things were getting ugly. Most scratches were from magnetic algae blocks, where a piece of coral sand was accidently picked up and scratched the acrylic. I found this product and decided to try it wet with fish, corals and the rest of the critters in place. Here's what I found: 1. The most coarse sheet of sandpaper is too fine -- buy some 600 grit waterproof sandpaper at a hardware store to remove the heaviest scratches first. 2. Quite a bit of acrylic dust will cloud the water. Keep your filter running and do the scratch removal in sections. My coral polyps closed up from the acrylic dust, but everything came out just fine. Not one critter or fish showed any lasting effects. 3. I used a Tunze Power Magnet Cleaner -- 2 1/4 inches by 3 inches -- to hold the sandpaper sheets. Wrap a heavy rubberband around the edges of the sandpaper sheets to hold onto the magnet which goes inside the tank, and polish the acrylic with the other magnet from the outside. Some liquid acrylic polish sprayed on the outside of the tank made the magnets slip easier. This method was way easier than sticking an arm inside the tank to try to polish with the included foam block... 4. Move from the 600 grit waterproof sandpaper directly through all the grades of sandpaper that come with this kit. When I was finished, my tank looked better than new. I couldn't use the final liquid polish that came with this kit, but I didn't need it. Good product -- well recommended, and you don't need to drain your tank.
