There is no comparison with the beauty of the Red Sea Max 130D and the stand but there are some flows to be fix if the manufacturer want to make it a perfect unit. I’m not regretting the purchasing of this unit but I had few problems that only dealing with a great customer service department from Marine Depot and Red Sea Max has made my problems much easier. The first issue is the high temperature do to the lights and the three power heads. Yes it has a little cooling fan but besides getting the small power supply burned within two weeks of running, it only brought the temp. down from 85F to 83F which is too hot for me and I’m just running the lights for five hours for now. I do live in Miami but my ambient temp. inside my home is 77F. I have a JBJ 24gal Nano and the temp. is at 77F with not chiller and the lights running for 9 hrs. Then I had a trouble with the skimmer power head, it was shutting down like twice a day and was making a laud sound, I could not find the reason. I want to say that Red Sea Max was there for me, I email them and a fan kit together with the skimmer pump was replaced immediately. Yes, there is an issue with the micro bubbles but you will not notice them in a few days they will reduce a 70%. I bought a Chiller Artica 1/10hp model DBA-075 and what a difference it makes. I’m running the chiller with a Maxi jet 1200 but there is not too much space in the back of the tank for it and I could not find where to place a UV light if I want to use one unless you put it in line with the chiller My only mayor issue now is the loudness of the skimmer pump; I thought that it was the old one but the new pump makes the hood vibrates. I have the tank in the family room and you could hear it in the master bedroom. The solution for me is running the skimmer with a timer during the day while at work. When it come to maintenance the tank that is another issue. You have to take the two power heads down when taking out the carbon bag for cleaning. T
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Overall this is a good aquarium with some convenient designs and some design flaws. The glass scratches much easier than other glass aquariums I've had. The cooling fans became noisy after 1 week, but would then quiet down. They steadily became worse, would not quiet down, and needed replacing. Red Sea customer service says you have to replace them about once a year. I've never had to do so with Current and Coralife lights, and the notion of replacing them so frequently is ridiculous. Extremely poor design and annoying customer service - as if replacement is normal maintenance. Give me a break! Maybe I'm just irritable because of living with the annoying cooling fan buzzing like a chainsaw!!!
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

I like this tank - overall, it is very well built. It has a lot of nice options to it and is one of the nicest all in one tanks on the market. The only area I think it lacks is lighting. It would be a big improvement if they went with a 150 watt HQI bulb. Based on my experience, it would allow you to keep more SPS coral which I love.

I have the system for about 1 month now, and for the most part, I'm pleased. There are a few issues with the filtration system which you'd expect with an "all in one." We'll see how thing's go, but at this point I'd recommend this unit.

I would like to begin by saying that the 130D tank and stand by Red Sea are of the highest quality. I will begin with the high quality stand included with the purchase of the tank. This is no flimsy stand, immediately I observed the sides, bottom and top were very thick and laminated on all sides to provide protection from saltwater. The design is also very stylish. I will say the hinges for the cabinet door are a little flimsy but over all this stand is top notch. The tank itself is also of the highest quality. The glass is much thicker than other brands and most importantly the entire tank is GLASS. Unlike some other brands the divider wall (separates main tank from filter compartment) is smoked GLASS not plastic. The dividers inside the filter compartment are also GLASS. The skimmer seems to be producing very fine bubbles and some nice think froth and dark skim mate. The TWO circulation pumps provide tank circulation at 10x per hour, very nice circulation for the tank. Only draw back both pumps are on the same side, I wish they were on opposite sides of the tank. The included 150 watt heater with your standard power indicator light is more than sufficient. The hood is also top notch. The hood is cooled by two fans and a third now included with 130D helps keep water nice and cool. Built in timer is solid with splash guard. The entire hood has a very solid design. Finally, the power center is really handy. First it hides all your cords so the tank looks tidy. Each switch controls a separate component: 2 separate switches for each circulation pump, 1 switch for skimmer, 1 switch for lights and 1 for heater. Each switch is splash proof. In summary you get what you pay for and this tank and stand are worth the extra cash. Its sturdy all glass construction and quality components provide a high quality plug and play system for any skill level.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Excellent tank. Well thought out. A little short on the lighting. Red Sea should release a 150 Watt MH version.

Very well thought out. I love all the features, but Red Sea should put out a MH version. I put in my own and love it.
