The Ultimate Wavemaker
The WaveMaster Pro creates randomly flowing and ever changing water currents in an aquarium by automatically switching powerheads on and off with its microprocessor controller.
The effect the Wavemaster Pro creates in the aquarium is dramatic: not only corals but also other aquarium inhabitants display their natural "bloom" and behavior.
The Wavemaster Pro offers several smart options and settings that make this device suitable for practically every marine aquarist and aquarium set up. Maximum power load up to 720W.
Specifications

2 Aquarium set up options:
- Reef mode facilitates feeding of invertebrates that live on suspended particles or plankton, by giving sufficient time to feed, without losing the food into the bio-filter or protein skimmer.
- Marine mode facilitates feeding by the smallest as well as the largest fish by temporarily switching off the all but one of the powerheads, while the main pump keeps running the water through the life support systems.
4 Different strengths of wave motion:
- Gentle—Slow random waves
- Rolling—Short periodic waves
- Turbulent—Fast random waves
- Alternating—Sequential 4 hour periods of Gentle, Rolling and Turbulent wave programs
Night program: A pre-programmable 8 hour night period that switches automatically to a calmer wave motion.

it works as intended in every way so I am pleased with it overall. However, If they are reading this please consider slowing the pumps down but not all the way, This would be in an attempt to prevent the noise you get from the powerheads each time it alternates

Mine is running 5+ years now. The optional wave strength settings is a nice option. Generates very good wave motion if you place your powerheads where you're supposed to. You can overclock each of the (3) elec outlets at back of Wavemaster Pro with a simple 6" long 3 outlet extension cord (white) from radio shack. I use (3) powerheads on the left side tank and (3) on the right side of tank. Vertically - MaxiJet 1200 at top, 900 at middle, 400 at bottom. At the center of the aquarium I have one Maxi 1200 at water line pointed straight ahead towards tank glass and combined with sump pump outlet. On same elec outlet I have (2) MaxiJet 606 circulating down behind my live rock stack to decrease detritus build up. Powerheads do have a harder start than advertised. Feeding button is finicky to turn on only when night cycle is on but works fine. My only fine tuning remark would be for Red Sea to cut power to all powerheads when I select feeding option. My fish create enought current to spread fish and coral food around without any pumps which creates too much movement for coral food to settle down nicely. A battery backup would be nice to save settings if power goes out. Wavemaster body is small and can be mounted to your tank stand wherever by substituing case screws with some long wood screws. Otherwise I absolutely LOVE this product.

I agree with a couple of other reviews that I have read, in that if you couple this with the Koralia 5,6,7 or 8's and you will have a quiet setup that moves alot of water! I had the Red Sea Wavemeker out in my garage for the last couple of years, in a box, because I could not find powerheads that were quiet enough. I read about the Korilia 5's and ordered them, and dug the Red Sea wavemaker out of its box. In my 5' 100 gallon reef, and it is very impressive, and quiet! That is important, as the tank is in my living room! Finally, a setup that you don't have to mortgage your house to afford!

This is the best product out there. I have been using it for two years without a flaw> Nice feature is that you can shut down your main filter so you can feed without your food being sucked into the filter> Highly recommend>

It is simple to setup and use. I'm using it to drive 3 Koralia 1 pumps. The wave programs all work as promised, gives corals flow from all directions, and helps suspend detritus so it can be filtered. The flow changes every 5-15 seconds, and there seems to be plenty of variation.
Minor complaints:
1) The feeding time switch is finicky. A single press often double-toggles the mode off-on-off, so I have to press it lightly on one side to get it to toggle just once. Otherwise, it works as advertised.
2) There is no "off" mode, except power off. I don't have a sump, so every time I do a partial water change I turn the unit off. When I turn it back on, I have to reselect the wave program (Marine Random) and also reset the night-mode.
3) The night mode works like this: You press the night mode button once at the time the 8-hour night period begins. Or you press it twice at the time the 16-hour day period begins. In other words, you can't set it up in advance. You have to be there to press the button at the right time. And since the timing is lost whenever the power is turned off, that can get annoying. In the age of $5 digital alarm clocks, this device should include a battery backed clock and an LCD display with configurable time periods.

Great product!. Definitely gets the job done. I have it hooked up to four Maxi-jet 1200's and the coral and fish are much happier. It has all the great features as the more expensive products on the market for less than half the price. The only thing that needs to be added to future models is for the unit to retain its memory when unplugged so that the nighttime mode doesn't have to be reprogrammed.
