reactor very well built. I also have a nextreef reactor which is also nice but I love that they got rid of the foam pads. My nextreef pads would need cleaning every month or so even with using 100 micron filter socks in my system. and when your using the reactor for certain carbon products that do not need to be changed for at least 3 months opening it up just to screw with the pads like I have nothing better to do. Only downside to no pads is if your using media that is very small in size it must be kept in bags in reactor or it flows right through slots on strainer. Could always make your own pads if need be. Seachem Seagel works great, has bigger carbon and phosphate pellets. Also comes with 5/8 barb adapters for maximum flow. Biggest upside is Filling/refilling. No tube down center to get in the way, plus as easy as unscrewing cap instead of 6 little screws.
