Reef Octopus

Reef Octopus NEW Biopellet reactor series takes a innovative approach of efficiently fluidizing the biopellet media without blasting the media itself with direct flow pressure. A specialty dispersant plate fluidizes the bio media into a churn style suspension. This unique motion these reactors produce allow for much greater suspension of the media within its cyclone “churn” style motion. The BioChurn Reactors come in Four styles an in-sump, external, external/recirculating and a commercial line for large aquatic environments. For the ultimate control of PO4 & NO3 look no further than the Reef Octopus BioChurn.

The Professional Recirculating BioChurn reactors are for those that demand the ultimate control over your BioPellets solid carbon dosing. The superior “Power Churn” design easily fluidizes large amounts of biopellet media without blasting it with outrageous flow just to fluidize the media which is a common downfall to other commercial Biopellet reactors on the market today. Equipped with the quality recirculation pumps and features independent flow valves so the user can independently control the flow of media within the reactor.

*feeding pump required.

Exceptional Product!!!

This is a truly amazing product. Switched this product with my old reactor, that clumped and channeled easily. I could not be more impressed. For set up I diverted water, from my sump to the tank, to the Bio-Churn. I was worried I would not have enough water pressure, so I bought the recirculating pump version. Well I was wrong it works great without the extra pump. Maybe I will need it in the future when the bacteria really starts to form, but I doubt it. When plumbing make sure to add a water control value before the Bio-Churn, you do not want to much pressure or all the pellets are pressed to the top.

The Best of The Rest

This unit is ROCK solid. I seeded it with some of my old in use bio-pellets and 30-ml of Waist Away (by Dr. Tim). Absolute control with no clumping. Made with the best quality parts. Bottom line is buy it you will love it.

A+

I replaced my reef octopus bio pellet reactor to this bio churn reactor. i am very please with it. normal reactors take a lot of flow to get tumbling effect but this reactor has a recirculating pump on it thus only requires little flow through the unit. overall very pleased with the unit.

Reef Octopus

The Reef Octopus so far has been great.I have only run the unit for 2 weeks. I did have a hard time getting the unit to stop leaking. The front of the housing on the motor was the problem . I had to put some wonder lube to fix the problem. Also you will need to buy a feed pump to drive the unit. The motor on the side does not feed the unit.It has a great even flow of media inside. Over all so far, I would have to give the unit a 10.
