This skimmer is one of the better I have ever purchased. Great build, the pump does seem a bit cheap, but the skimmer is cheap for what you get. Fot hose having a problem getting the level correct, well you must be running it in a sump, if the water level changes in your sump, so will the water levl in the skimmer. This can be easily fixed by inserting a 90 degree elbow in the oulet then running pipe above the higest water level the sump will gone. Once you fone tune your skimmer, the water level should remain constant.

I purchased this skimmer to replace my aqua c remora HOB skimmer due to a tank upgrade with a bigger sump, I must say I am extremely impressed with this skimmer, it looks great, well built, super quiet compared to other skimmers, started pulling dark colored skim out of my reef in less than two hours. Adjusting it was a breeze thanks to the gate valve, much easier and accurate compared to other skimmers I have owned. Be sure to have a ATO on your sump to keep a constant water level. Simply put I own six different skimmers and until this purchase I could not find one that I actually liked and worked correctly, hats off the makers of this skimmer!!! I finally after 15 years found a skimmer I can truly say I love, I will be replacing all my skimmers with these!!!!!

Great product!!!! Took a week to break in. Make sure you keep the water level in your sump consistent, you will get the foam you want.

I bought this skimmer to replace one that I had a lot of issues with. i.e. overflowing and and making a mess on my floor. This is a great skimmer. it produces a lot of bubbles and the productivity is great. It has been running now for about 4 days. I have had to dump the collection cup twice already. The skimate is a deep green. I am very happy with the purchase. the only issue I have with it is the noise. even with the air silencer I can still hear it sucking the air in. Its not too bad but it is still noticeable. I still would recommend this product.

this is my 2nd Reef Octopus and very pleased again. small footprint and very quiet! I had to elevate it a little since I have more than 6" of water in my sump. if you need a small skimmer that works great you can't go wrong with this one.
