Seachem

Seachem Acid Buffer™ is a non-phosphate buffer to lower pH and buffer with Alkaline Buffer™. Both buffers are designed for the planted aquarium or for very hard water where phosphate buffers may pose an algae or cloudiness problem. Acid Buffer™ lowers pH and buffers between 5.0 and 8.0 when used with Alkaline Buffer™. As Acid Buffer™ lowers pH it converts carbonate alkalinity (KH) into available CO2. It may also be used to safely lower pH in marine water. A 300 g bottle treats over 900 gallons.

Used during a water change in conjunction with Neutral Regulator. Acid Buffer has lowered PH level under 7.8 it's day 2 and counting. Looking for 7.0, I will try a second dose on day 3 if PH is no lower.

I use this with peat granules and it lowers the PH down to a perfect 6.0 for my discus and angelfish. Tried using Seachem discus buffe...Read More

I have been successfully operating freshwater tanks for over 20 years. This product, used in the small amounts recommended, is THE BEST fix for tap water with higher pH. It contains no phosphates, so there is no nasty algae bloom and has never clouded the tank water!!! Very safe & dependable...Read More
