Seachem

Seachem Clarity is the ultimate clarifier for both fresh and saltwater. It employs an advanced polymeric flocculating agent that is both reef and plant safe. Clarity is the only clarifier on the market that does it all! Clarity will clear all types of clouding: bacterial and other biological type blooms, chemical clouding, and particulate clouding (i.e. stirred up gravel bed). When Clarity clears up bacterial clouding it helps to accelerate and enhance the colonization of the biological filter by efficiently relocating these natural biofilms to the biosupport media in the filter. Freshwater and Marine. Plant and reef safe. A 250 mL bottle treats 1000 gallons.

LAME

I have several Seachem products and most of the time I have been very happy with them. Not with this one though. It didnt clear up anything! I finally went to pet co and got some Aqueon water clearer and that worked much, much better.

not so good

i was disappointed when using this. it does state that it will make water cloudy which it does. fish were stressed due to the excessive cloudiness but it seemed to clear up a bacteria bloom i had. in the process of cleaning up the cloud fish seemed to be able to breath a lot easier. and you need a fine filter to clean up the bunched up agent or it takes forever to clear. hard to tell if it actually is worth using

Clogs Gills 1 Death

Applied minimum dosage of CLARITY to Long established 220 Gallon Tank, Fish, Inverts, Live Rock, Live Sand. Tank clouded instantly (not unusual for such products) then after an hour or so, fish were swimming erraticly and gasping for air (inverts were less active)after about 3 hours lost a beautiful, Full Grown Yellow Tang Specimen. Over 20 years keeping Fresh & Saltwater aquariums... have not found a truly Safe, effective Salt Water Clarifier. [However for Fresh Water "Brite & Clear" lived up to name and expectations.] After 12 hours and cleaning filters water is still less than crystal clear, surviving fish are doing better, crabs, snails, starfish remain less active... Clarity also seemed to effect the Protein Skimmer operation, yet nothing in directions indicated potential problems (as many additives and treatments often suggest turning off protein skimmer for specific time period)...not a good Reef Tank product, fortunately there were no Corals in the tank.
