Seachem

Seachem Reef Builder ™ raises carbonate alkalinity without immediately impacting on pH. With long term use there will be a tendency to stabilize at pH 8.3. Carbonates and calcium are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. Used as directed, Reef Builder™ will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity. Reef Builder™ and Reef Buffer™ may be used together. Use Reef Builder™ to raise carbonate alkalinity without affecting pH. Use Reef Buffer™ to raise carbonate alkalinity and pH. 4 kg treats 128,000 L (32,000 gallons).

Reef Builder

I find Seachem products work well for my system. I have used them in the past, tried other methods, then I came back. I tried the basic two part with carbonate. That solution has a very high pH, which clouds the water, precipitates calcium and I get to clean pump impellers constantly. I don't have room for three dosing pumps or calcium reactors with multiple tanks. I like that I have control over what goes in my reefs with their products ( it would be less so with a calcium reactor). Seachem's products are designed to avoid huge pH deviations. I find that it helps my corals do better. It is much less work than dosing multiple solutions every day. The dry products are the most cost effective.

Does what the label says it does. Sort of hard to dissolve.

Best product for ALK there is!

I've been using this product for over 10 years now, and I recommend it and use it on ALL of my maintenance customer tanks. Won't overshoot alkalinity if dosed properly, and won't effect the PH, or Calcium levels. Grows Beautiful Coralline Algae!

I love this product...it's really just one of those things that go unnoticed until something goes wrong which does not happen with this product!

Reliable

I've always found this product to be a reliable way to maintain carbonate alkalinity at consistent levels. It's pricey and there are probably other products that will work but this one's the one I've been using for over six-years.

Good Stuff

Used this for years. Mix a half cup with a liter of RODI water and make part B of 2 part. Do the same with Advantage Calcium for part A. Way cheapper than buying premade solutions. Also, Advantage Calcium doses magnesium to my tank too.

Seachem Reef Builder

I have been using this product for over a year. My 150 gal. reef tended to drop to a dKH of 9; adding 2 tsp. of Reef Builder to a cup of water, mixing for 10 seconds, then adding to sump every 10 days keeps the dKH near 11.

works great

I have used Seachem products since day one and Reef Builder works to keep the alkalinity up where I like it. It's easy and effective.
