High quality fixture by starford Experience Level: Intermediate Posted on 8/23/2008 from FLOWER MOUND, TX Comments: This is a well made, high quality lamp fixture. The powder-coated metal frame looks to last a long time. The twist-to-lock mounting plate is easy to fit and use (be sure to keep the screws tight). It comes with an excellent, long lamp cord moulded with a two pin, one blade male plug that didn't fit my electronic ballast, so I had to re-wire the ballast's lamp cord in, which was easily done. Lamp base is Leviton, it's adjustable horizontally, and the fixture can be mounted by hanging w/included eye bolts or mounted to a hood, like I did. Should include the companion tempered glass covers, but does not, so get them, too. The square-ish reflector shape provides an excellent cone of light over 2' of tank with very little light spill out the sides. These fixtures get very, very hot during use, so allow for active ventilation and chilling of your water. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
