NOISY by riverman

Comments: Quite disappointed with this pump. It is very noisy and the fish look terrified every time it turns on . The controller also seems flimsy . The cable to the controller also is a bit to short for use on large tanks . The flow adjuster doesn't seem to make a big difference and I doubt it's moving 5000 gph .
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I purchased the larger of the two models - the 22ML. I also have 2 Tunze 6100 with the 7095 multicontroller. First, it is large: about the size of a soda can. I was expecting something a bit smaller. The magnet attachment works very well and includes a pivot attachment that gives some good install options. The pump itself comes with two attachments to customize the outputs. The outputs also perfectly fit 2" PVC pipe so you can make your own custom setup - which is what I did. The controller allows for output adjustment but it allows you to adjust from about between 60% - 100% output. So be careful about buying the big pump unless you need that much flow. This pump moves as much water as my Tunze pumps. The Polario hums a little so be prepared for a little bit of noise. My Tunze is dead silent. Also, the Polario controller only gives a few program options so don't expect too much. Conclusion - I like the Polario. I give it 4 stars because it moves big water at an affordable price. It is not even close to the quality of Tunze or give as much programming options with the controller. However for a big tank, this is a value water mover that is hard to beat.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Great
I like it a real lot by WILLIE MCDARIES

Comments: I don't know long term how it will hold up.I just got it but it works great, seems very well constructed, the cooling fan in the controller is loud(I'd giving 5 star if not for this).the pump itself is quiet, just a hum.The fan on my light system is louder(no clanking or rattling, like Maxi-Jet with Sureflow upgrade on a wave maker) Very smooth transition between directions,it has a pause between directions,it moves a ton of water,it hasn't added any heat that I can tell to my tank,I have it in a 150g tall tank about half way between sand and surface,it moves the sand around on the bottom (under tow) and tears the surface water up(looks like a jacuzzi)(not white capping though :) the whole length of the tank,it is large and somewhat unsightly, not ugly but you can't help but notice it in the tank(I will probably re stack my rock and try to hide it),the magnet mount is very strong,be very careful,I put it in my tank myself but had to get help to position it,I couldn't move it once the magnet halves met(1/2" glass) All my critters seem to like the extra flow,I love it
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: i got one of these around september 2008. it worked great for all of a few hours before the controller started malfunctioning. sent it back to taam a couple of time and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. lfs also confirmed it didn't work, so right now no one knows what's wrong with it. most expensive paperweight ever. get a tunze instead.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.
