Powerful and durable function allows for many applications such as trace element dosing, drip system for reptiles terrariums, circulating pump for lizards, amphibians and for priming gravity fed siphon tubes. Tom's Aqua Lifter

We have three to restart gravity fed siphons on a 70, 55 and a 30 cube. They perform reliably. The only difficulty is the hoses becoming clogged with detritus causing the pump to be unable to start the siphon. It is, after all, pulling air and water out of the drain for the tank. Everything that ends up in the filter sock passes through there.

A different application!

We are using this pump as part of a vacuum tweezer set up for placing very small solder chips and gem stones into position. The rest of the parts consist of a 3' flexible tube that is plugged into the vacuum side of the pump and the other end inserted into the barrel of a diabetic size hypodermic syringe that has a blunt needle on it. The barrel has a small hole drilled in the side to place a finger over for pick up and by removing the finger the part is released. So far so good with the pump. I had been looking for a small inexpensive vacuum pump do do this with and was not sure if this one would work, but it does!

Excellent Value

I bought this Tom Aquatics Aqua-Lifter Dosing Pump as a replacement for one I have been using for nearly ten years. It is used to maintain the siphon for my overflow box and works extremely well for that purpost.

Planned Obsolescence

The reason these are so moderately priced is that you need to buy them by the dozen. I have no less than 7 of these sitting in the junk heap. They are quiet and work great until they stop working, which is no more than a few months.(Of course, you know that they have stopped working because you lose siphon on your overflow [I have a CPR type with square corners] and your aquarium empties on the floor.) The owner of my local aquarium store says that everyone knows they are junk but that there just aren't many alternatives. So, I have taken to just replacing it every two months or so.

perfect for the money

This is a perfect little pump for the money. Little work horse and great for your small water needs. Great for doing many different things with your tank. Not just for dosing.

Pretty good

This pump is pretty good for the price. I use it as a kalk doser set up on a timer. It doesn't give a whole lot of output, which is a good thing for dosing chemicals.
