What can I say other than that this little filter really works well. A must for the longevity of the Aqua-Lifter pump I use for my CPR overflow. I gave it a less than 5 star rating because you can't purchase the filter element separately.

Absolute necessity for any un-drilled tank with overflow system. All of those DIY PVC overflow systems you see on youtube will NOT work properly without a dosing pump. And this ensures long life of said device.

The filter was easy to install. It would be nice if it came with additional filter media. I would also reccomend a version with a mounting option, either suction or wall mount.

i purchased this with the Aqualifter, JBJ ATO and for the price i can afford to take a chance and after seeing this perform all i can say is GET IT! it is being used primarily for RO water only but once i stabilize my parameters i will be using Kalkwasser and this prefilter will help prevent or minimize the chances of clogging.

I first used the aqua lifter pump about 9 years ago without the pre-filter. The pump lasted about 9 months.I bought a new pump and added a pre-filter. Over 8 years later, its time to replace them both..Not bad..Another good thing about the filter is that the lid can be removed to clean the filter pad."A must have" if you plan to use the aqua lifter pump.

Missing gaskets

I have three of these prefilters had some prolems then realized 2 of the three were missing the gaskets. Otherwise they are great its easy to rinse the filter material and reuse it with no problems. Of the three lifter pumps only one stopped working properly upon opening it up the little valves inside had come aparttried to repair but they came apart right away in testing so I ordered 3 new ones so I have spares on hand

Good filter to prevent things getting sucked into the pump, however it needs to be constantly cleaned. I wish it was somewhat bigger and the filter inside would be bigger as well.

I use AquaLifter pumps with the CPR overflow on my reef tank, and I know from experience that using these prefilters definitely prolongs the life of the AquaLifter. Buy a few to have on hand since you will want to check regularly for clogging and replace when necessary. I wish they were more reusable, but I have not had good luck with trying to rinse a clogged prefilter. I would have rated them five stars because they are so necessary, but marked them down a notch for lack of reusability.
