Detox 2 - Removes Phosphates and Ammonia 48oz

Laboratory tested. Research has shown that bituminous coal-based carbons have preferential surface area and pore size for maximum pollutant removing power over other medias in aquatic application. The carbons used in Detox-2 meet or exceed A.W.W.A. (American Water Works Assoc.) standard B-600-74 fpr water treatment and is compatible with all municipal water treatment use.

Apparent Density: 0.44.0.46 gm/cc - Spec. Surface Area: 950-100 m2/gm Phosphate Removal capacity: Removes up to 10 pp, per 100 gallons up to 30 days. Note: If sediments and substrate are highly contaminated or phosphates have built-up, complete reduction may take up to 3 to 5 product changes with regular water changes.

Rule of thumb: With high levels of Phosphate (3.0 ppm or above) - best results swill be achieved when changing media every 60 hours (After testing the water for current Phosphate levels) until the water is within desired Phosphate level. (Usually less than 0.3 ppm)
