Since the introduction of the Turbelle® stream pump, the realisation of currents in reef aquariums has changed. The pumps have been developed especially for water circulation in aquariums and set an absolute record in the field of aquarium pumps with 30,000 l/h (7,925 USgal./h) and an energy consumption of only 64 Watt.

Commercially available aquarium pumps produce an excessively high flow rate in the core area of the water jet and a much too low flow in the marginal areas. These differences will lead to stress on the aquarium inhabitants, in particular on coral polyps.

Whereas it is desirable to generate gentle parallel flow lines in the aquarium with lower flow rates and without a hard water jet. Like in nature and to the benefit of the animals, Turbelle® stream pumps meet these requirements.

The electronically controllable models have been fitted with a FishCare function when the motor is at a standstill.

  • Propeller Technology
  • Quiet and easy to maintain.
  • Controllable speed, wave simulation, tidal currents at Turbelle® stream 6101/6201/6301.
  • Low motor heat, high efficiency.
  • Safety technology: Turbelle® stream 6060/6080/6130 is earthed (3-pole plug) and has been provided with an isolating thermostat.
  • Safety extra-low voltage, blocking and run-dry protection at Turbelle® stream 6101/6201/6301.
Propeller technology
Several years ago, we asked ourselves an important question: How could more water be moved using less energy. Propeller technology pointed out the way to us, and led us to a perfect shape of the propeller. The motor power of the Turbelle® pump is transformed into water movement in an optimal manner with few turbulences or mechanical loss. The propeller is precisely adapted in every Turbelle® stream pump, and thus guarantees a low-noise and reliable operation at a high efficiency.

NOTE: Most Marine Depot products are sold in 110V conversions. Please verify your country’s volt conversion before making any electrical purchase.

Fantastic!

I always thought people who paid $300+ for a powerhead were insane... Then I bought one. 3 6000's, a Wavebox, and a 7095 MultiController later, and I wouldn't buy anything else. Not only are they bulletproof, they have great customer support, and are fantastic in the tank. Tunze is the ONLY option for serious reefers.

Great Pump

This pump is great. The random flow it can generate does not compare to some of the other pumps out there that I've used. It's nice that it's made in Germany too.

Tunze Turbelle 6101

This powerhead is great! It in my opinion is much too large for my system. After talking with a guy from Tunze and Salty Dog from WetWebMedia.com I decided to purchase one though. It has worked out pretty good in 55 gallon reef. I can't utilize it to it's full potential because it creates sandstorms! But It will soon be moved to my 8ft 320 gallon that is in the installation phase. The stream put off from these powerheads is very broad and turbulent instead of being a very small laminar flow. I also have a Maxi Jet 1600 up grade on my Maxi Jet 1200 which works equally well at broad turbulent flow at a fraction of the price. Draw back on the Maxi Jet,... it is fixed at 1600 GPH (or so it claims...). All in all the tunze is awesome and i will buying 3 more and a controller for the big tank.

Don't forget the cables

If you are ordering these to add to an existing controller, these do not come with the cable that goes to the controller.
