The FVKITKENT allows an RO to fill a reservoir to a desired level, then shut down water production completely. This kit works from pressure only, no electricity. Included within this kit is a pressure solenoid, float valve (part # FVKENT), check valve, a 1/8" elbow, a male 1/8" x 1/8" connector and 1 foot each of blue and orange tubing.
FVKITKENT can be used on all RO`s except dual membrane systems like the 100, 120 and 150 gallon per day and the commercial RO units.
Not compatible with SpectraPure RO and RO/DI systems.
Note: Not recommended for level control in aquariums.

Great product. Once it's installed, your RO will completely shut down once your reservoir is full. I wish I had installed one years ago; it would have saved me an untold number of gallons of water and wasting filter performance for forgetting to turn off the water.

I have had one of these for about a year... it stopped working a few months ago, and my reservoir overflowed. The float itself filled with water, rendering it useless.
Not only that, but when it was "working" the stop valve would leak a small amount of water with just a small amount of back pressure... so it would slow down the flow, but not STOP it, which is what it is designed to do.
There are better, cheaper float valves out there... don't waste your money on this one, or worse end up with a disaster because it fails to do what it is designed to do.

unit works great, really saves alot of water. I have it going into a reservoir (5 gallon bucket) in which I have a float inside to stop the flow when the bucket is full and then going into my sump which has another float. Going into the reservoir first keeps the unit from cycling to fast. Also if the power goes out (I'm on a well) then I have about 2 days of reserve in the bucket.

If you are wanting to run your line out from ro/di system to top off your tank or refugium, then all you need is the float valve, don't mess with the other stuff that comes in the kit. I drilled a hole in my refugium where i wanted the float valve to go and applied teflon tape to threads. Inserted float valve through hole, tightened the nut on the other side, took my line from my ro/di filtration system and inserted it in the hole going to the float valve and tightened nut. No leaking either from refugium or from ro/di water coming in to valve. The valve works like a charm, works almost exactly like the float valve in your toilet, as water rises, the float valve rises and the outflow of water to your tank starts to slow down until finally, the float valve reaches the point where it is fully up and shuts the flow of water off coming from your ro/di system. I would agree with others that it would be nice if they sold JUST the float valve seperatly instead of the entire kit which I am sure would bring the price down by at least half, but other than that, works perfectly!

I returned this kit. The reason I got it was because I wanted the waste from the RO to shut off when the tank was full and the dispensed water stopped. Everyone should check their R/O unit and make sure you don't already have the automatic shutoff for the waste line. If so, then instead of spending $56, you can just get the float for $17. Lesson learned.

For some reason, I've never had a shutoff mechanism for my RO/DI unit. Being who I am, I have a tendency to forget turning the darn thing off before it overflows my water storage device (aka a plastic garbage can). After one too many "floods", I finally caved and bought this item. Sure enough, it shuts off, and my carpet is spared. If you have an RO unit, and a floor you'd like to keep dry, this is a handy item to have!

Excellent product, does what it's designed to do... turns the outflow water from the RO unit off. Haven't heard any noise from it at all. Great flood saver in case power goes out as in my case, my pump didn't come on to drain my freshwater holding tank into my aquarium so the Kent Float valve just turned the water off for me before it spilled over. Awesome!

Does a great job of filling up a reservoir and stopping output. However, be warned that it does make a pretty loud, VERY annoying squealing noise every time it gets near the top.
