Follow These Install Steps

Great product, especially for the money! USE THREAD SEAL TAPE, no issues with leaking at all with O-ring! You should always use thread seal tape on any wet thread anyway! ;) Started a new 70 gallon saltwater tank, fish & LPS mostly. Wanted to try this one. Comes w/ new pump with flow control. Plenty of power, I'm running GFO on only 10% power. INSTALL STEPS: Know this, you need to cut (2) small pieces from the clear flex tube included. These (2) pieces are cut to size, and serve to connect the pump to the hard plastic intake, and the reactor to the hard plastic intake. Worth it.

Good Value

I've only had this set up for a week but so far so good. I was a little nervous about getting it because of some of the reviews, but it's a very simple design and doesn't have many parts that can fail. So I'm pretty confident that it will do the simple job of filtering water through whatever media you choose. I'm running it with a GFO / Carbon mix. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it hasn't passed the test of time yet...

It had potential

Sadly it was short lived, the top hose connections wouldn't stay tight. When I finally got them tight one cracked! It actually kept working until I had to refill it then the cracked connection leaked constantly. Like others said I also emailed Via Aqua asking for a replacement lid, willing to pay, and never even got a reply. This is one of those 'you get what you pay for' items. I ended up with a $50 little pump, I use it as often as possible!

ViaAqua Poly-Reactor

This reactor is a good buy for the price. It's easy to setup and get running. My only concern is that the o-ring for the top is very thin and easy to break if you tighten the top down to much. I can't find replacement o-rings anywhere and have contacted the manufacturer via email 2 weeks ago and still have not heard back from them.

Awesome reactor for price

I wrote this review because for people trying to save money they should know the truth. This reactor worked perfectly right out of the box and took me literally 5 minutes to put together. The instructions are not perfect but easy to figure out. Cut two 4 inch pieces off the main clear pipe and place on each end of the black inlet pipe. This way it connects to both the pump and reactor. They upgraded the pump but if you have been in the hobby for awhile you know all small pumps can be a pain on occasion, however this one has been working perfect. I use GFO media and it tumbles perfectly on medium flow and no leakage at all of media or water. Great reactor and I am using mine on a 90 gallon tank.

POLY REACTOR

It set up in minutes, replaced pump with a maxi jet 600 power head, its just a injection of water to the bottom of reactor which then flows through all the media. It has a means to keep debris from returning to tank, you can run carbon, x-nitrate, and x-phosphate. I don't have room in a HOB skimmer using bare bottom Berlin method to try these solutions anywhere else. I filled it with just carbon to test it for removing residual ozone, I was reading some white papers on public water treatment they mentioned PH of 9, and higher temperature also helps dissipate 03 in the water. You can't have a temperature of 98, but 80-81 is fine, they said at 68 degrees 03 stays in water for 30 minutes, at 98 residual ozone lasts for 5 minutes, interesting.
