Seems to work very well

I've struggled with Nitrate in the 20-40 range for a little while. (Regular 25-30% water changes, pre-rinsing food, trying not to overfeed.) I had tried original ecobak a while ago but my Nextreef reactor worked poorly for biopellets (Uneven flow, clumping, etc. even without the sponges in place) and I just had a slimy mess. Not wanting to change the reactor, I used some de-nitrate from seachem with a low flow rate and growing some different macros in the sump. Didn't have a lot of success with those either. So, I recently bought a hydra aquatics bio pellet reactor and tried the ecobak plus. Sounded like it was even better and faster working than the original. My nitrates were in the 20-40 range when I started and I went ahead and started with the full dose for my tank size and turned off my UV. Within the first week I had cloudy water but it was gone in under 2 days. I'm now about 2.5 weeks in and my Nitrate level just tested less than 5. Water is clear and I don't have to clean the glass nearly as much either. When they say to have a well sized, working protein skimmer, it's no joke. I get twice as much crud in the cup as I used to. Overall great product.
