Comments: The Wave2k is large, hot, and noisy. The bealt slowly wears out and drops black burn rubber into the tank. Look elsewhere for a wave maker. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Wave maker up and running for several days now. Several problems: Had I realized that there ia a big motor hanging off the wave maker that is not shown in the above picture I would have not bought this equipment. 1. Instructions are vague and poorly illustrated. 2. Power cord off motor is only about 3 in long 3. Noisy, even with pully adjustment. 4. Internal piston does not reciprocate smoothly. 5. Drive belt does not stay on pullies well, no extra drive belt included. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Below Average

Comments: I had the money finally, over 20 yrs of reef tanks, to go all out. This looked like the best product for my needs. From the beginning I did not like the very short power cord of 8", after setting 100's of lbs of LR 4-6" live sand, outer orbit lighting, etc... I turned every thing on and the system worked. The only problem was the noise of the wavemaker.. extremely loud. It would keep me from sleeping in my bedroom many rooms away. I took it out, collapsing my LR structure! I tried all advice, put it back in and still had the noise. But since it gave me the effect I was looking for I endured the noise (I can only assume that the inhabitants had stress with this 6 mths of operation. After 6 mths it just quit. I again removed it, causing much disruption since I had started adding some inverts and soft corals. I got it working fine after completely taking it apart, put it back in the tank and it again stopped working after 2 wks. Not willing to remove it again, at least it provides a good place for live food to bread. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Average

Great waves, but LOUD. by IAN LARSEN

Comments: I bought this about a year ago in order to put it in my 55G tank. The major things that I noticed about it were that it was initially very loud. I worked with the owner in order to remove the belt noise by way of increasing the tension on it. The belt noise never COMPLETELY went away (even after tightening the belt to the point that I felt it would snap), but I loved the wave action so much I was willing to ignore it. Besides, it was about the volume of my somewhat loud overflow. The noise that didn't really go away is the CLUNK that occurs whenever the unit reverses direction. I'm sorry to say that despite an excellent wave action, this was what killed the Wave2k for me and caused me to remove it from my tank permanently. I look forward to seeing version 2 of this (if it's coming), because this is truly a GREAT idea for a wave device and I would love to see how it works out. As it stands though, it just doesn't work for me. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: What can I say it lives up to its description, got all powerheads out of tank, and this unit is just working great, quiet, easy to install. So very glad I purchased this. Will recomend to all I know. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
