small footprint, cheap

A small footprint pump that is cheap, has reasonable output to add agitation in a 5 gallon tank, creates little heat and has a life span of about 2 years in saltwater before the axis gives in or the pump jams.

moderately okay pump

The buying process was as smooth as I've ever experienced - great service! The pump is okay, but could be a bit better. The cover panel, right from the box, would not stay closed, which means I'll have to keep my eye on it and probably have to maintain more often than usual- no big deal, but a little dissappointing. My biggest problem is that the literature provided said nothing about what diameter hose and fittings were needed for this unit. Turns out that it needs much larger than other pumps this size, and, of course, both sizes of the hoses I ordered were not compatible with this pump, so I had to "McGiver" the heck out of some stuff I had on hand to make this work. Hardly a hassle free implementation! A big improvement would be for this and all pumps offered to have accurate hose/fittin size requirements listed in the descriptions. Thanks!
