STEP 1 of 4: PFO Ballast Options |
 |
Ballasts enclosed in an aluminum housing which helps dissipate heat. Dual and Triple Ballasts have independent switches and power cords for maximum control.
The 250W and 400W Iwasaki ballasts are only to be used with the Iwasaki 6500K lamps. These are the recommended ballast for these bulbs.
The 400W HQI ballasts are recommended for OSRAM 400W 20000K lamps. Initial tests show that lamps burn 30-40% brighter. |

The plugs and quick disconnects on the PFO ballasts are standard. If you want to upgrade or downgrade the lighting intensity, all you have to do is purchase a new ballast and bulb, and you are all set. No need to send your entire system back to the manufacture and no cumbersome rewiring necessary.
Note: PFO Socket assembly with quick disconnect cords do not come with ballasts and must be purchased separately.

| EYE ballasts are for use with Iwasaki 6500K Metal Halide Bulbs ONLY. Standard Metal Halide Ballast are also capable of powering Iwasaki 6500K Metal Halide Bulbs. |
| HQI Ballasts are for use with European 250W or 400W 10,000K, 14,000K and 20,000K HQI Bulbs ONLY. Standard Metal Halide Ballasts are also capable of powering 250W Ushio 10,000K as well as 400W German 10,000K and 14,000K Metal Halide Bulbs. |
| Pulse Start Ballasts have an igniter in their starting circuit that helps fire the European lamps. This firing method may also extend the ability of the bulb to fire for longer periods of time. This does not necessarily mean that the light output of that bulb will be increased. These ballasts are special-ordered and shipped directly from PFO. |
| 150 and 250 watt HQI ballasts are also designed to be used with respective Mini-HQI pendants in step 2. |
