Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis
The Blue Line Angel is a beautiful species that will make for a nice addition to a fish only tank, with other community type fish i.e. Butterflies, Tangs, Wrasse etc.. This Angel is fairly seasonal as well, and is commonly sold in smaller sizes. Would be best to ask on availability first.
Maximum Size: the Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis grows up to 9 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Blue Line Angel prefers a tank of at least 90 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis is a omnivore and likes to eat marine algae, mysid shrimp, Spirulina, Sponges and other fresh or frozen seafoods. The diet of all larger angels consists heavily of sponge material, so it is recommended to feed "Angel Formula" by: Ocean Nutition, which has a very high sponge percentage mixed in the food .
Level of Care: The Blue Line Angel is a Medium maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Blue Line Angel may act semi-aggressively toward other fish.
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78 F).
Range: Northern West-Pacific, Japan, and Taiwan.
