Chaetodon kleini
Chaetodon kleini, Bloch 1790, Klein's Butterflyfish. A hardy, but shy species that often perishes due to too much commotion and competition in captivity. Brown or Klein’s Butterflyfish, is a winner coming from the east coast of Africa all the way across the Pacific to the Hawaiian Islands. This species is a generalized feeder on benthic invertebrates and algae, but will sample soft corals (which it eats in the wild).
Maximum Size: the Chaetodon kleini grows up to 6 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Orange Butterfly prefers a tank of at least 60 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Chaetodon kleini is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of chopped foods (meats & veggies).
Level of Care: The Orange Butterfly is a low maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Orange Butterfly may act peacefully toward other fish.
Hardiness: This is a very hardy fish.
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78 F).
