Seachem Prime™ is a complete conditioner for both marine and freshwater use that removes chlorine, chloramine, and detoxifies ammonia and nitrite. It also provides essential ions and stimulates natural slime coat. It will also detoxify any heavy metals found in the tap water at typical concenration levels. Prime™ also enhances nitrate removal. It should be the first choice conditioner when setting up a new tank, adding, or changing water. No other product is required to make water safe, even in high chloramine situations. Seachem AmGuard™ safely, rapidly and efficiently removes toxic free ammonia. It is safe to use during tank cycling and is ideal for treating unexpected emergency situations. AmGuard™ reacts with free ammonia within minutes and does not alter pH. Ammonia can exist in two forms: free and ionized. It is only the free form that is toxic. Traditional ammonia test kits convert all ammonia to free ammonia by raising pH to 12-14; at this pH AmGuard™ cannot function and thus a false positive reading will result. Seachem ChlorGuard™ safely, rapidly and effciently removes toxic chlorine. Chlorine is commonly used in many municipal water sources to disinfect tap water. Chlorine is toxic to all aquatic life and should be removed before use of such water. ChlorGuard™ should be used whenever doing a water change or adding water. Be aware that many municipalities treat water with chloramines rather than chlorine. ChlorGuard™ will not remove chloramines. Check with your municipality water provider if you are uncertain which is used in your area. If chloramines are used, then use Prime™ instead. Marine and freshwater use. |
