The Hydor Biohydea couples the Hydor BioFlo with the Hydor Hydea Powerhead. The BioFlo aerobic filtration works to reduce ammonia and nitrite naturally without the use of chemicals being added to the aquarium:
The Small BioHydea is capable of removing 1.0 (+-.1) mg/hr of ammonia (for aquariums 10-24 gal).
The Medium BioHydea is capable of removing 2.6 (+-.2) mg/hr of ammonia (for aquariums 20-40 gal).
The Large BioHydea is capable of removing 3.6 (+-.4) mg/hr of ammonia (for aquariums up to 50 gal).
The deflector rotates 360° driven by the Hydea powerhead. The rotating water flow creates a natural and pleasant wave effect which is beneficial to live plants and reef inhabitants and leads to increased oxygenation. The sponge also works to capture unpleasant surface film. The Hydor BioHydea works best when the BioFlo is submerged at a 2/3 level. The BioHydea is ideal used standing alone, or in combination with any undergravel filter using the provided adaptor system. Safe and reliable. UL listed. For freshwater or marine aquariums.
