I.D. Ultra-Flex PVC Pipe Tubing Information




Ultra-Flex PVC is 40% more flexible than standard flex pipe. Flexible PVC can simplify your plumbing as it allows you to bend and curve around pumps, filters and other obstructions. It retains its large inside diameter and helps to avoid the need of elbows so that water flow is not impeded. This will increase efficiency and reduce the amount the fittings required to help you get the most out of your pump. It is also resistant to both UV and ozone. Flexible PVC can be glued into standard PVC fittings using standard PVC glue.

Comments: ordered some 3/4" for my return and 1" for drains. cuts like butter using standard pvc pipe cutters. a dab of pvc glue and here is the Key, TWIST it into the fitting and it will slide right in. Since it has twisted pvc coil inside, pushing it in like normal PVC will cause it to bind and not be fully inserted, twist and it will go in fully.

Comments: If you're trying to push this up on hose barbs, you didn't read the description. Use standard PVC fittings, primer, and glue. This is a permanent product, not removable. Use it right and it's fantastic!

Comments: This tubing is super easy to work with and much more flexible then typical flexible PVC. Being PVC it needs to be glued with proper PVC glue to PVC fittings. I will be ordering more for future needs.

Comments: You can't clamp this tubing which means you can't make a water tight connection. It is flexible but how is it useful if you can't connect it!

Not for my aquarium

Comments: I ordered some 3/4" and 2" to plumb the sump of my saltwater aquarium. It is beautiful looking hose, but way too stiff in the larger diameters to be useful - indeed, the 2" was virtually unbendable even after soaking in hot water. And trying to slip the ends over hose barbs proved impossible, even the 3/4"with silicone lube and heating the tubing with both hot water and a heat gun. You can't return cut portions, so I'm out $57 for an experiment that shows this tubing won't work for aquariums.I think this product would be great for outdoor pond installations with lots of room for gentile curves (if you could ever figure out how to slip it over hose barbs) - looks like it would last forever, but is way, way too stiff and unforgiving for aquarium use.
